Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Teach & Triumph!

This week's Community Engagement Challenge is called "Teach & Triumph" and it is about choosing a topic which will help a new Splinterlands player improve their battle skills, knowledge of the game in general or of the ecosystem as a whole. Now, I don't know about you, but I think something very important, which is often hard for new people, especially those that are not that crypto-savvy is the topic of getting money into the game (other than using PayPal to buy credits), and specifically getting money to buy DEC/SPS from Hive-Engine or Tribaldex. This is why I've decided to show the fastest way of doing it for a person who has access to Binance. So, this is apply to most Europeans and elsewhere it the world where Binance is freely accessible. I know that's not the case of the States in general (not sure if there are any exceptions).

So, first off, in order to do this, you must have a Binance account, with all the needed KYC that goes with that. I will just assume you've passed that stage successfully. Then you have to select the way you would like to put money into your Binance account. There are a few ways but I prefer the following two:

via a Credit/Debit card:

or via a SEPA bank transfer:

It is very important to note that when you use your CC, you pay a 2% fee on the amount you spend, while when you do a Bank Transfer, the fee is fixed - 1 EUR for the EU member countries, no matter what the amount you deposit is. I use Revolut to deposit money to Binance and the transfer is usually instant. Then when you've pass this stage and you've got money in your account, you just go to the Trade and buy Hive. Once you've bought hive, you just go to your wallet and click withdraw:

You then enter your hive name (ign), don't forget to add it to the whitelist, so you can withdraw quickly to it without have to go through all security checks. The transfer is also basically instant and cost the whopping amount of 0.01 HIVE as shown on the screenshot above.

Now from here we're no longer concerned with Binance and we land in the HIVE ecosystem. I prefer using PeakD for my Hive wallet stuff, so this is what I'll reference:

The amount you've sent from Binance will appear as Hive Balance in the Wallet Section of PeakD as picture above. You can check your incoming Hive transactions in the transactions explorer below:

So, after that, you need to obtain SWAP.HIVE. The way I prefer to do that is to swap it on BeeSwap - https://beeswap.dcity.io/convert

The fee here depends on the amount of Hive/SWAP.HIVE the pool currently has. The usual fee is 0.45% but this time (at the time of the screenshot) it seems they have a bit more Hive than they need so the fee is 0.75%. Sometimes there is actually low liquidity on the Hive side and then you could actually earn a few extra SWAP.HIVE for swapping Hive into it. Now that you've finally obtained your SWAP.HIVE, we've reached the final stage of the DEC/SPS purchasing process. You can go to Hive-Engine or Tribaldex. I prefer using to Hive-Engine.

You have to click on the "More" dropdown menu in the upper right corner and choose tokens. Then you can see all the tokens listed on the exchange and among them DEC and SPS - hit - they are usually on the top of the list.

You get into the submenu of the coin and place your buy order. You can click directly on a sell order and buy directly from it if you feel that the going rates for the Buy and Sell orders is more or less the same, or you can place your buy order for a Price that you find most suitable. You should be aware that there a ton of trading bots, so you'll have to battle with them when placing the Buy orders. It sometimes takes me hours to squeeze out the best price if I have to buy a larder amount but if you don't care that much, you ca just buy for the currently lowest Sell rate and go about your day. Once you've done that - you've bought DEC or SPS, you go in-game to the DEC/SPS menu. You press the "Transfer" button and get to the following menu:

You choose "Hive Engine" in the "From" section and the quantity you'd like to transfer. Congratulations! You now have your DEC/SPS transferred into the game. The process might seem long and tedious but it literally takes 5 minutes when you're used to it.
