Hi, Splinterlands community! π
I'm @trespernas (Palomo in discord), a solo developer and a Splinterlands player since 2021. For the past months I've been building Overseer, a bot for ranked Wild that simulates before it fights. It's in a free alpha now, and the first results from real players are in β so I wanted to share them, plus a couple of things the data taught us about the game.
48 hours, 3 accounts, +600 rating
One of our first alpha users brought three accounts β one in Champion III, two in Diamond One. Here's what happened in their first 48 hours on Overseer:
- βοΈ 120 ranked battles, 73 wins β a 61% win rate at Diamond/Champion level
- π +600 rating across the three accounts (+120, +260 and +220)
- π Two accounts back in Champion, and the third one reached Champion II
- β
Zero missed battles β every team submitted on time
Two days is a small sample, and the start of a season is when good players climb fastest β so take it as an early look, not a verdict. We'll post a full-season update on October 31, when season 193 closes.
Why simulate instead of copying the meta?
Because most of your battles are new. Two numbers from our data surprised us:
Your exact battle has (almost) never been played. We analyzed the data from all matches played by high-elo Wild players over the last 30 days, and this was the result:
A Wild battle is up to three rulesets, a mana cap and a set of active splinters β a huge number of combinations. We checked 199 real ranked battles against recent Diamond and Champion matches: for the median battle, only 2 teams had been played with the exact same rulesets at the same mana cap. In 44% of the battles: zero.
So "just copy the meta team" only takes you so far. Most of the time, nobody has recently faced your exact conditions β you have to work out what wins.
Same conditions, very different teams
We took 7,148 real Diamond/Champion teams that fit the same battle conditions and simulated them against each other. Teams used by players rated 3700+ won 70% of those matchups; teams from players below 2800 won 26%. Same rules, same mana β but card levels and team-building experience add up fast.
That's the job Overseer does on every battle: build the best lineup your collection can field for this exact battle, and test it in simulation against real, strong teams before it fights.
So what is Overseer?
Overseer plays your ranked Wild battles 24/7 on our servers β nothing to install, no computer left on. Before every battle it simulates thousands of matchups against real teams from the current meta and goes in with the best lineup your collection can field.
It also takes care of the routine:
- π Claims everything on time β daily and league rewards, Fortune Draw and SPS, including the daily chests before they expire at midnight.
- π¦ Smart chests β on days your energy allows, it pushes for the 15 wins of the 3rd chest instead of stopping one or two short.
- ποΈ Wild Pass β buys the season's pass with your account's DEC when the season turns (optional, you can turn it off).
- π Full transparency β every battle in your dashboard with the result, the rating and the official replay, plus a Performance panel by rule, splinter, mana range and card, so you see where your collection shines and where it's short.
Security first: posting key only
- Only the posting key. We check on-chain that it really is the posting key β active and owner keys are rejected. The active key, the owner key and the master password are never requested. If anyone asks for them on behalf of Overseer, it's a scam.
- The key goes straight into an isolated signer with no internet access, encrypted for your account alone. The website never sees it again.
- The signer only signs a closed list: playing Wild battles, claiming rewards and buying the season's Wild Pass. Other purchases, sales, rentals and transfers are refused.
- Turn it off anytime with one click. Removing the account deletes the stored key β and changing your posting key on Hive cuts everything off immediately.
Is it allowed?
Yes, in Wild. The Splinterlands Terms of Service prohibit automation only in Modern, Brawls, Tournaments, Campaign and Frontier. Overseer only plays ranked Wild.
Pricing
Free during the alpha β limited spots, up to 10 accounts per user.
After launch: 20% of your match SPS, through the game's own reward delegation β no subscription, no token to buy. If you burn your SPS for Glint, you pay per match instead: 1β20 DEC by league.
