"In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines..." Oh Lead Belly, a truly eerie classic.

These days of isolation have turned to weeks, has turned to a month. The feeling of lingering in an endless Twilight Episode with no ability to turn the channel. This new reality.

Each weekend, on nice days, I have been taking the fam out searching for isolated areas of wilderness to wander and reacquaint ourselves with the natural world. It's a breath of fresh air that helps clean the mind from the all lingering squeeze of home captivity.

I remind myself, it is only time, only time, and it is/was so much worse for individuals who live(d) under constant gunfire, in war zones, bombings, who were stripped from their homes, and persecuted. This is nothing in comparison. It is only time.

And one day the channel will change.

We stumbled deep in the woods to an area trampled by tornadoes too thick with broken trees and branches we couldn't travel through.

It was a reminder of the force Mother Nature can be.
