I’ve been away and way out of the loop, absent for what feels like years. Something happened on Steemit, now there is this new Hive jive blog thingy. Cool. It’s a new relationship! All the sparks are flying!

Me and social media usually date hot and cold. It’s a love/hate of passionate sweaty bursts followed by long periods of void and silence. Sorry for that. I typically call after the first date. I haven’t dated in thirteen years. Long term relationships do that to a person, makes me, well, relaxed, comfortable, domestic, rusty. So let me clear my throat and try my Casanova.

And the world flips upside down.

Welcome to the new norm: Pandemic Paranoia! Day eight for me on self quarantining. Guess I snuck out Monday to visit a bluff along the Wisconsin Minnesota border. It was too nice outside. Needed the vitamin D and a bit of fresh air.

So ok, day seven… feels like twelve or twenty. I’ve cleaned the house. Cleaned and organized the garage. Organized my work van. Read a bunch. Stared at the back of my skull. Built a new storage area in the basement. Organized that. Stocked up on two-three weeks of food, coffee, and adult beverages. I’m now hearing word Minneapolis-St Paul will be moving to a forced lockdown Monday with the National Guard rolling in. All businesses closed. I need to stock more beer. This is going to be the long hall. I’m expecting to see armed military outside the grocery story by the end of next week. Each day is a new norm. #worsthangoverever “The horror, the horror.”

Maybe I’m overreacting. But,

I have friends driving north. Fleeing the city.

I have friends buying guns.

Has it come down to this...yet? They can’t starve us in our own homes. Can they?

I have clients. I’m running a business, or was… I had work. They’re waiting for me to finish the jobs. AND I need to get paid.

F@ck!

But I can imagine, many, if not all of you out there are, or will be floating in this similar boat. Keep your paddles handy and happy sailing to all. May the seas be calm and drift us to safer shores.

In the meantime, I have over four pounds of coffee.

It’s time to lock myself in the studio and get writing.

I’ll post my stories here.

Happy house camping everyone.
