Hello people it's another beautiful Monday and I'm bringing to you a little of craft, remember I told you guys that I'm learning craft so I decided to bring the little I have learnt to you guys so you can learn as well.
So last week my boss taught me how to make table mats, the procedures that are very easy the materials used are very accessible. So let's get to work first of all the materials used are;
- raffia or fabrics
- gum Evo-Stik
- scissors
- calendar or plywood
- trimming.
ok for me I used plywood instead of calendar and plywood makes it harder you know meanwhile calendar will not be as strong as plywood, but you can decide to use anything you have plywood or calendar.
Now the procedures;
- pick your calendar or plywood and carve whatever shape of table Mat you want to make. Carve out 2 pieces.
- on each of the card plywood or calendar rub gum on one side.
- pick one of the plywood or calendar and cover the side with the gum with your fabric living space to bend over that means your fabric should be big enough to cover that calendar with allowance
- on the other calendar or plywood you are apply the raffia to it and don't forget the raffia should be big enough to cover the plywood with allowance to bend over.
- to the part where there is no raffia apply gum on that allowance which was bent over so you can apply trimming on it don't forget like I said earlier you should always apply gum to one side of your trimming that way it will stick easily.
- apply gums to the inner part of both plywood or calendar. Allow to dry.
Join them together.
Your table mat is ready!
