An oriental small-crawled otter can be a pet in Japane but it is very rare and expensive.
You can feed and touch her who named "Bu-chan" and she is so cute.
I think many of people from outside of Japan is surprised when you see a pet shop in here.
I don't really like a kind of "pet shop", they are selling baby dogs & cats in the shopping mall or home center.
This must be a bad practice here in Japan l believe.
We can purchase a puppy or kitty so easily that may results of easy abandonment.

神戸のカワウソカフェに行ってみた。
カワウソだけでなく、フクロモモンガやフェレット等、少し珍しいけどペットとして飼える動物たちがいるカフェで、ペットとして購入するとこも出来るみたい。
コツメカワウソのブーちゃんにエサをあげたり、抱っこすることもできて、メッチャ可愛かった。
店を出たあと、獣臭がすごかったけど〜
ただ、海外の先進国に比べると、日本のペットショップ文化は、少し異常な感じもする。
ショッピングセンターやホームセンターで簡単に子犬や子猫が買えるので、安易に購入して、あとで飼いきれなくなって放棄するなんて事もあるらしい。
本当に死ぬまで面倒を見て、最後を看取る覚悟がないと飼っちゃいけないと思う。
どうやってペットと寄り添って生きていくのか、その辺りの考え方は日本ではまだ遅れているような気がするなー
