Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on is Up to Eleven.
In an Up to Eleven ruleset, all units will have the Amplify ability.
As Amplify will increase the reflected damage of Thorns, Return Fire, and Magic Reflect, using units with these abilities will increase your chance of winning with this ruleset.
Lets take a look at a Wild Silver ranked match with Up to Eleven as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions are:
Up to Eleven and Aimless with a max mana of 45. Only Fire, Earth, Life and Death splinters are allowed in this battle. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owster Rotwell | 3 | Summoner | I don't use Owster Rotwell often at all but in an Up to Eleven ruleset battle, this is a good summoner to use especially if the opponent uses magic units. Owster Rotwell will give all my units the Magic Reflect ability which works very well with Amplify ability that is given from Up to Eleven. Any enemy magic units that hit my units will get a nasty surprise when they themselves get hit back by their magic damage. |
| Cursed Windeku | 6 | 1st | Cursed Windeku has Thorn ability which again works very well with Amplify. With Thorn and Magic Reflect, my Cursed Windeku can reflect back both Magic and Melee damage making it a pain in the butt to kill. |
| Djinn Muirat | 9 | 2nd | I deployed Djinn Muirat in the lineup because it has Void Armor. This makes it tougher to kill if I am facing a magic team lineup. |
| Ravenhood Warden | 4 | 3rd | Ravenhood Warden's Protect ability would give all my units +2 armor. This would make my whole lineup much more durable. Only issue with Ravenhood Warden is its low health. If the enemy got off a lucky shot into my Raven Warden right at the first round, it would be bad. This is possible as Aimless ruleset means Ranged and Magic attacks would be randomly hitting opposing units. |
| Twister Jester | 4 | 4th | Twister Jester 3 ranged attack is very high for just a 4 mana unit so I decide to deploy it. |
| Dhampir Stalker | 7 | 5th | Dhampir Stalker also has 3 ranged attack and True Strike but cost considerately more at 7 mana. |
| Usut | 10 | 6th | I used Usut at the last position to tank the backline as well as hope that it will grow stronger with its Bloodlust ability. |
| Total Mana: | 43 |
Opponent Lineup:
My opponent went with a Death splinter lineup with Thaddius Brood as the summoner. Surprisingly the opponent didn't use Cursed Windeku as the tank but rather a high mana Night Ghoul instead. I guessed this was partly because we have too much mana to use so the opponent went for units that used more mana rather than units that take advantage of the rulesets.
End of Round 1:
The starting round didn't started well for me as I very quickly lost my Ravenhood Warden to a random hit from the opponent's Revealer magic attack. Thankfully the Revealer also died from the magic reflect damage. Overall it was a worthwhile trade as the extra armor from my Ravenhood Warden also kept my Cursed Windeku alive through the first round.
You can see how powerful Cursed Windeku's Thorn + Amplify ability was by the armor and health of both my opponent primary and secondary tank.
End of Round 2:
My opponent lost both the expensive tank and the second unit in this round while my Cursed Windeku managed to stay alive. This was amazing considering the opponent tank alone cost almost twice the mana I used for my Cursed Windeku. The opponent Magic Necrosi also died from my Magic Reflect this round leaving only 2 opposing units standing now.
End of Round 3:
Battle was won in round 3. This battle showed clearly why it is important to use units that took advantage of rulesets that is assigned to your battle.
KEY STRATEGY
My strategy was to use Magic Reflect and Thorn to work hand in hand with the Up to Eleven ruleset (Amplify) that was assigned to the battle. It worked extremely well even when luck wasn't on my side.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
There are also certain combinations of rulesets that give clear advantage to certain summoners. I will give a few examples here:
- Up to Eleven + Up Close and Personal
- This is a melee only battle so if seeing these rulesets, Mylor Crowling is probably one of the best summoner to use.
- Up to Eleven + Going the Distance
- This is a ranged only battle so Ilthain and Lir Deepswimmer are great summoners to use.
- Up to Eleven + Wands Out
- This is a magic only rulesets so Owster Rotwell is the best to use. Immortalis is the next best choice if Owster Rotwell is not available.
Note that there are units that have dual attack mode though but for the most parts those summoners tends to do much better than others in those combinations of rulesets above.

My guild, The Guild of Kingshaven, is also looking for new members. For added incentive to joining us, our guild leader will also be assigning Runi to any new member that can actively participate in brawl battles and give donation to our guild buildings. Runi is extremely powerful and is the only unit that has the Rebirth ability.
