When the month of January came, one of my resolutions is to keep at least three realizations by the end of the month. The purpose of this resolution is that I want to know how myself is doing, I want to have a healthy conversation with myself. Now, I want to share to you my end of the month realizations. Maybe this could also be your starting to point to look for some realizations in life and other things you might want to share to the world.

1. Health is the real wealth

Typhoon Odette left our region wounded. After weeks of unending cleaning and surviving life without electricity and limited supply of water, I can tell that people are already tired. Even if they say that Cebuanos are resilient but, we are also humans, we also get tired.
Talking about my experience, I also got fever, runny nose, and sneezing. Thank God, it was just a flu because I did not have any sore throat at all, and my fever lasted only for a day. However, my sneezing and runny nose continued for a week. I think medicines for flu are sold out in every pharmacy because many also experienced some symptoms like mine. So, there was like a “panic buying” happening. Fortunately, my mother already bought some medicines before the typhoon happen just to add in our medicine kit. A few tablets are enough to cure my fever, although there are still sneezing and runny nose, I can just handle it. Few days later when I already feel alright and my body is in condition I had my vaccine (sharing my vaccination journey soon!) for additional protection, since my body is already capable to be vaccinated.
In the end of the day, I realized that being healthy is the real wealth of every person. Imagine being sick in this time of pandemic, it is really difficult. Because you can’t work or go to your office since you need to isolate yourself just in case you got infected with the omicron variant. And when you missed work, there’s no pay, and when there’s no pay, there’s no food on the table. See, our health is the most important aspect of our life. It is the instrument for us to achieve all the things that we want, and we lived for. Be healthy, to be wealthy.

2. Never forget to treat yourself

The end of the year 2021 and the start of the year 2022 was a little bit stressing to me. Cleaning and keeping back to normal all of the things that were destroyed by the typhoon. All the body pains, fever, and headaches, I’m glad that I’m healthy now. So, my family went to a shopping and finally our parents are going to treat us this time! We went to SM and bought the things we want to buy as their Christmas gift for us.
Aside from that, me and my partner also treated ourselves! We went to Coffee Project and chill for awhile and charge my laptop (since we don’t have electricity at that time). I’m thankful for that moment because we had some quality time and rest from all the schoolworks and other errands. Therefore, it is important to treat yourself. But, treating yourself does not limit to shopping and going to the mall, there are still other ways to treat yourself like going to the beach or spend your whole day meditating and taking a rest.

3. Focus on the goal

When the year started, I told myself that “this is it, you can nail this”. This is because 2022 will be the biggest year of my life. This year will mark the ending of my student life and the beginning of my career. That is why, I must always focus on the goal. Distractions will always come but, I am determined enough to achieve my dreams. Let me share you one of my biggest dreams, it is to build my parents their own house with also a mini shelter for our dogs. My parents prioritized our educational needs to send us in a private school. I really appreciate it, and with that, to give back all their sacrifices and financial support for us, I want to build a house for them. It was also one of my inspirations because I took up Civil Engineering. It is indeed full of mathematics and structural designing principles (but still, math) but, I am grateful for myself that I can handle the course. Whenever I feel unmotivated to study, I always think my goals and with that, I need to focus to the target, to get that bullseye!
I hope you guys grab something inspirational from this blog. There’s nothing wrong from doing the things you like, but remember, freedom has a limitation. Be healthy, treat yourself, but remember to focus on your goals. That’s all for today, have a blissful day ahead hivers!
