November 18th will mark my 8th year in this realm.

Every year around this time I get all pensive and super graitude-y that I actually listened to jacobtothe@jacobtothe and signed up for "this blockchain-based blogging place," because this journey with you all has been pretty lit!

A couple years ago, I set a goal to write and earn my way to 30K Hive power. I remember thinking that it would be an awesome place to get too, especially since every single bit of that HP came from writing and publishing content on the chain.

It also came from all of you.

So when I woke up yesterday and saw that I had crossed the 30K threshold, I might have expressed my glee in a little celebratory shimmy before bolting out of bed.

The corg wasn't amused and looked a bit concerned over my spontaneous seizure, but she's just judgmental.

Anyway, I just wanted to do a celebratory, shout-out post, especially now that I see a bunch of new users round here. Every single bit of my stake came from participating on here. When I started I knew absolutely nothing about anything. But you know what, this place is a cornucopia of generosity and learning. I know people tend to focus on the negative, but it's because of the fine folk in our beautiful blockchain realm that I known how to trade crypto, compose posts in Markdown, own BTC, learned what HODL meant, and about a million other things.

I also am constantly awed daily by how amazing you all are. ☺️

Our community may not be massive, or the most well known, but it has something that I think is beyond amazing, grit. We keep showing up. We keep creating. We keep working through problems and innovating. We keep supporting each other. It's kinda amazing.

And that's why I will probably spend the next eight years here.

So, that leaves some more goal setting. I like public goal setting. The accountability and documenting of intention is good for the soul and a font of motivation.

My next goal is 50K HP, and yes, it will probably take me a bit, and a lot of writing, commenting, and saving, but I know I will be in the most excellent of all company as I toil and craft away.

And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's long suffering and full of goal notes iPhone.
