We had an energy outage all afternoon, the reason given is that due to roadblocks the thermal power plants ran out of fuel, a kind of dumb excuse because we are on the seacoast we have a pier and I think it would be even cheaper to transport this fuel by sea. This is another example of privatization gone awry, the electric company was a public company, it had one of the most powerful labor unions, when neoliberalism came in one of the first things that happened was to weaken unions, so these union workers went from being middle class to just being poor. BUt the huge wages workers got was the excuse for this company always running a deficit.
Well the worker problem was taken care of but incredibly it was still running at a loss so it was slowly privatized, until now the whole thing is run by a Colombian company that has a lot of Honduras elite capital, privatization has led to blackouts and also the highest rates per kilowatt hour in Central America, I think why you can see I am somewhat dubious as to the benefits of privatization, except if the idea is to make the people who invest in it very rich. Now why would a poor or middle class person want the rich to get richer? Beats me.
So on to other news. As I predicted, and I am saying this with a swelling feeling in my chest, Bitcoin has gone over $10,000.00 I believe for the first time in over a year, great news for everyone in the Crypto world. Now the question is if it will continue this trend or will go down, that is what everyone wants to know.
Unfortunately Steem seems to only follow Bitcoin when it is going down, I wonder why? With all the news coming from Steem it should be up big time, perhaps it is the doubts that HF21 has brought.
