Liverpool won the UEFA Super Cup by beating Chelsea on penalty shoot outs in Istanbul, Turkey. This comes as a very good thing for the Reds after losing the Community Shield against Manchester City, also on penalties.
Today's game was quite good, but in fact for me as a Liverpool fan it couldn't have started worse, Chelsea played much better during the first half, scored a goal and missed a few, one thing I have to say about the referees, they take too long to flag an offside, a team is done celebrating a goal before the decision to call the offside is made, they have to fix that.
Liverpool started strong in the second half Firmino made himself felt and after a couple of minutes the game was tied, but that was it, at the end of this half Chelsea again played better but the score didn't move. So we went to the extra time, Liverpool scored a nice goal and then the referee gave Chelsea a penalty only she saw, and the worse thing is VAR agreed with her somehow. So the extra time ended 2-2 and the y went to the penalty shoot out, Chelsea's Abraham missed his and Liverpool won the cup.
A very good game for Chelsea and Liverpool were lucky to win it this way, still a win is a win and a cup is a cup even though I would say the best player on the pitch was Kante and the better team tonight was Chelsea, I expect the EPL will be even better this year than last year if teams like Chelsea keep this up, yes Liverpool and Manchester City are still favorites but I think there is an extra competition from several teams this time around.
