Argentina was an overrated team that pulled rabbits out of hats to get to the world cup final. Argentina had an easy path to the final. Spain had a much tougher route. Argentina had no business being in the final with one of the worst offensive performances ever in a world cup final. Argentina had 2 shots total the entire game. It would have been criminal for Argentina to win the World Cup on penalty kicks & it would have been a black eye for the sport of soccer, especially in the U.S. Argentina got exposed, period!
I think some people based in the U.S will turn away from soccer. Soccer's biggest flaw is that it allows a team that plays putrid, an opportunity to win the game. I enjoy penalty kicks but I think international games that go into extra time should be determined by the golden goal instead of penalty kicks.
Spain was the better team & had the best defense in World Cup history. The right team won! Congrats to Spain! 🇪🇸
