By now, I guess even the most die hard hard fork facilitator knows that this hard fork is going to hurt the little guys a lot and in reality won't be that much of a help for the big accounts. Let's look at one big guy who invested $1,000.000.00 (don't know if there are many who have the funds and guts to do that but this is just an example) when Steem was at $2.00 so he has 500,000 Steem right now being optimistic that is only worth $200,000.00.
Now with that amount of SP that vote is worth about $10.00, 10 votes a day gives this guy a curation reward of $25.00, in a year he gets $9,125.00, he has a long way to get his 1 million back probably never. Now with the new 50/50 he will get $45.00 a day which is about $16,425.00 a year, same thing that account isn't getting its money back, and that is hoping Steem doesn't get dumped.
And now we have the new promotion going around #newsteem, where we just post good positive things about Steem and Steemit, where everything is good. Unfortunately the only people who will see this are people who are already on Steemit and I don't think many of these guys are going to risk money here. And then to top it up one of the ideas of new Steem is to get rid of bid bots and I have already seen articles that are basically trying to get rid of bid bots promoting themselves with bid bots.
No, we have to understand one thing, Price is what drives this - and the only way to get Steem and Steemit back to good health is by attracting new users and the most important part attracting new investors. This is very difficult, the situation of the coin isn't helpful, all the ideas that are being tried aren't helping, because all these new things like PALnet, LEO, games etc while attractive are not going to bring new money here so we have to try something else, something innovative.
Now I, who really like to read have been bombarded with Law of Attraction promotions for what seems forever. Apparently it is something that works for many people, so why don't we at Steemit try it out, every night when we lie down in bed we think about how great Steemit is, about what a great price Steem has and that it is only going further up, and that Steem is helping out millions of people the world over etc. We could also have the new tag #lawofattractionsteemit. Now this is an active role we would be playing because we are actually involving the universe.
But I have to admit something, I have myself tried the Law of Attraction when I have been faced with a difficult situation and it has never worked as far as I know, but hey if 10,000 active users try it at the same time how could the universe not listen?
