So HF21 will be activated next Tuesday and with it we will see what it really brings with it, will it improve Steemit or screw it up more than it already is? I am going for the latter, I see no reason why there should be a positive outcome especially when I see comments from STinc saying that the positive outcomes are "likely". You see for this hard fork what was missing was a psychological study to see if people actually are going to do what HF21 backers think they will, I see no reason for them to do so.
Now there are a lot of things I see that won't play out right, and yes I might be wrong and I wish I am wrong but I will talk about something that is really going to get a lot of people upset which I think hasn't even been addressed that much and this is the dust barrier which I believe is $0.02. Now to get to two cents right now you need to get votes from one or more persons whose SP adds up to around 2400, but after HF21 this goes up to 4000 not even taking into account the reward curve, I know it doesn't sound like much but many people just get enough votes to barely make it above 2400, getting 4000 will be impossible. Of course if Steem's price goes up the numbers change, but will it go up? That is also in the "likely" area.
So, yes a lot of money will not leave the rewards pool because of this threshold, but who are the ones who will benefit from this? Of course, the people who will get more than 20 Steem worth of votes from their posts which is where the new reward curve or linearity or whatever kicks in, so you can see why I have serious doubts about this hard fork doing much good, and this is just one reason, I think a lot of posts have been made about a lot of other reasons.
But we shall see how it goes, I usually get about $0.30 for my posts and I am just waiting anxiously to now get $0.18 per post and that is not even taking into account that the new reward formula will probably make it even less than that, this means my Actifit posts will become dust, I will still make them because that is what keeps me motivated for walking.
Another thing I have noticed is that the people who write positive posts a lot of them are using bid bots for promotion, and that really leaves me kind of dazed, aren't we trying to get rid of them with HF21? Hell, they are so useful that they are used to promote something that is trying to get rid of them.
