First view of the initial burst of light from the explosion of a massive star

An Argentine amateur astronomer was trying out a new camera and thanks to a lucky shot captures rare first light from a massive exploding star.

Professional astronomers have long been searching for such an event, the odds of this rare event are 1 in 10 million or even lower.
