A corner full of hope
Hello to all my beautiful and active people of Hive, today I want to share with you a project that I had in mind many days ago, but as situations are very changeable, we must adjust and do what we can. At first I wanted to make in the patio a place where I could sit and enjoy my plants. I had many things in my head, for example to raise much more the wall that divides the 2 houses, to place some slab stones in that wall, to embed some hooks to hang my plants and to place this trunk that I show you and there to put some plants that need to be attached to the trunk.
For now I only did part of what I had planned, as I told you, every day we have setbacks and we have to prioritize what we are going to invest the money in. That is why about 4 days ago I told my husband to help me to start making this space, which I named "a corner full of hope". The name is because I have been given several orchids that so far have not bloomed and I have the hope that here they do and so I can show you in a later post if God allows me, the results.
As you may notice my background is with cement floor, I asked for this trunk from the neighbors who a few months ago cut down a very large loquat bush. It gave a lot of shade to my plants with its big branches, but at the same time it was a big problem because of the amount of leaves that fell in our yard. That's why I asked them to give me this stick, so that it would be part of my project.
Once attached to the wall with some wires, I began to give Darwin instructions on where to place the orchids, we also took the opportunity to hang some beautiful eleven o'clock on the thinner branches on the wall, we also placed other bushes around it. As I was doing it, I was very excited, because although it was not what I had planned at the beginning, I was satisfied for the moment with this improvised corner.
That same afternoon I took pictures of two plants, the first one called my attention because it is very tall, thin and when you don't water it looks like it is going to die, but when you water it, it seems to come back to life and looks very firm. I had no idea what its name was, so with the help of an application that my husband recommended me called Picture This, which I find very interesting and I recommend it, because it asks you to take a picture of the plant you need to identify and immediately gives you all the information you require, thanks to it I could get that it is the Erigeron of Canada, but in addition to this name has many more: horseweed, compound lily, broom among others. It is mentioned that its meaning is "dancing love" because as soon as the breeze hits it, it moves from here to there, that is an idea of mine. That is why I have it in this place so that somehow the breeze does not mistreat it so much.
The second one that is next to her according to the application and research, its name is Don Diego de la noche, although it is also known as maravilla, clavellina and four o'clock flower, because it blooms at that time until 8 o'clock at night, then it closes its flower and opens again during that time, I found this very interesting, I learned that it symbolizes shyness, simplicity, chastity among other things. It is said that its flowers are of intense colors, red, white, yellow and that is why it is very appreciated for its beauty. With all this information I want to see it bloom. Then I will be showing them to you.
To finish my post of this day, I show you some plants that by accident were born between stones, the sidewalk and very close to the gate of the garage. As I always tell you I like to clean the bushes and take out the dry twigs and throw them outside, when it comes to the ones I have on the porch of the house. Well, here they were born, very pretty with their purple flowers, the others are of glitter and bad mother, they are small. I hope to see them blooming, today I decided to take pictures and share with you how persistent plants are, sometimes they are born in places where you least imagine.
Let's be like them, let's not give up, no matter how strong the storms are, let's always look for a shelter where we can wait calmly. A hug for you, I hope my writing is informative, reflective and to your liking.
