For the third straight year, Niantic is deploying a special event centered around the Rock and Ground type Pokemon of the mobile game Pokemon Go. Starting today, June 4th and lasting for a week until June 11th, 2019; the Pokemon Go will have an Adventure Week in game! This event focuses on engaging players to get out an explore adventures outdoors while catching some Pokemons you would encounter while hiking. As most week long events, a number of features are changed in the game to provide a unique experience as well as some incentives to remain active during the event.
The following Pokemon will be featured and appear more frequently in the wild: Geodude, Rhyhorn, Omanyte, Aron, Lileep, and Anorith. Also, 2km eggs will now hatch the following Pokemon for a limited time: Onix, Larvitar, Anorith, and Shieldon. Raid Bosses will also have slight changes as Onix will now be a Raid Boss as other Rock types as well. Some of these Pokemon will also have the Shiny forms available to capture (Onix, Lileep and Anorith) if you are luckly.
There will also be a number of bonuses during the week to incentivize players who play. First, there will be specially themed Field Research tasks associated with Adventure Week. Second, you can earn 4 times as much buddy candy for walk you buddy Pokemon during the event. Third, if you find new PokeStops that you have never spun before, you will be able to ten times as much XP for those on the level 40 grind. Lastly, those players that have Adventure Sync turned on can earn 50,000 Stardust and 15 Rare candies if they accumulate 50 km of activity!
While the event is something to do that is different these days, it is not the best one even though I don’t mind hatching some eggs and trying to get my first Sheldon! Go and Catch ‘Em All!
Thanks!
