If you haven't visited Plovdiv yet, you must do so in the near future! Today we went to a traditional Greek cafe called Mikel.

The cafe is located next to the main street in Plovdiv. I was surprised by the fact that this cafe is traditionally Greek and all of the staff of the place up to 95% of the customers are Greek. It turned out that many international students decided to study in Plovdiv because the fees here are cheaper than in most foreign countries.

Кафенето се намира в непосредствена близост до главната улица в Пловдив. Изненада ме факта, че това кафене е традиционно гръцко и всички от персонала на заведението до 95% от клиентите са гърци. Оказа се, че много чуждестранни студенти са взели решение да учат в Пловдив, защото таксите тук са по-евтини, отколкото в повечето чуждестранни държави.
As soon as I entered the café, I was impressed by the interior and the friendly attitude of the staff. The choice of products and drinks is huge. And for the convenience of the customers, just above the cash register is displayed the menu of the restaurant.

Още с влизането в кафенето ми направи голямо впечатление интериорът и приветливото отношение на персонала. Изборът от продукти и напитки е огромен. А за улеснение на клиентите, точно над касата е показано менюто на заведението.
I was also impressed by the fact that unlike most cafes in Bulgaria, here they have made it easy for you to choose a drink by dividing the menu into two parts. On the left side are the hot drinks, such as Espresso, Cappuccino, Brewed Coffee, Chocolate and Specials. And on the right are the cold drinks.
We decided to try a warm Cappuccino Flat White. It was definitely a worthwhile choice. Out of the three options we had - Standard, Regular and Grande, we decided that the Regular would be the best.

Направи ми впечатление и факта, че за разлика от повечето кафенета в България, тук са се погрижили да ви улеснят откъм избора на напитка, като са разделили менюто на две части. Отляво са посочени топлите напитки, като например: Espresso, Cappuccino, Brewed Coffee, Chocolate и Specials. А отдясно са посочени студените напитки.
Ние решихме да опитаме топло Cappuccino Flat White. Определено изборът си заслужаваше. От трите възможности, които имахме - Standard, Regular и Grande, решихме, че най-подходящо ще е да си поръчаме Regular.
It may seem funny, but it wasn't until they brought our order that I realized what the name of this cafe was. On the front of the cups it said - Mikel, the coffee community. And in terms of the design of the cups, this is the first time I've seen such artfully decorated cups.

Може да ви се стори смешно, но чак когато донесоха поръчката ни, разбрах как се казва това кафене. Отпред на чашите пишеше – Mikel, the coffee community. А по отношение на дизайна на чашите, за първи път виждам толкова арт украсени чаши.
This is also the time to give you a tip. The cafe offers plastic and paper straws. Whether you ordered a hot or cold drink, you'd better get a plastic straw. I didn't consider this and got a paper one. Before long, it disintegrated in my coffee and I was forced to throw it away.

Тук е момента и да ви дам един съвет. В кафенето предлагат пластмасови и хартиени сламки. Независимо дали сте ти поръчали топла или студена напитка, по-добре ще е да вземете пластмасова сламка. Аз не съобразих това и си взех хартиена. Не след дълго тя се разпадна в кафето ми и бях принудена да я изхвърля.
Saturdays and Sundays, and most likely during the week, are full of people. Today, for example, there were no tables available and we were forced to wait 5 minutes until a seat opened up for us.

Събота и неделя, а най-вероятно и през седмицата е пълно с хора. Днес например нямаше свободни маси и бяхме принудени да изчакаме 5 минути докато се освободи място и за нас.
The atmosphere in the cafe is very nice and I can't help but show you a quote they have hung on the wall. It goes like this, "Life is all about the people you meet. Not the thing you tweet."
A very relevant quote nowadays! We enjoyed our coffee and pleasant topics of conversation and it was time to go. If you have your way to Plovdiv and want to enjoy a nice coffee, this place is for you.
