Have you reached your 2020 goals yet? No? Come on, what are you waiting for, the year is almost over, there's no time to waste. OK, it's only day one so there's a little time to go...However the last part of the preceding sentence still applies right? There's no time to waste.

I suppose though, the more pertinent question for January 1, 2020 is, "what have you done to achieve your 2020 goals?"

Yeah yeah I get it...It's still early days and to be completely honest I did diddly-squat to achieve my goals today...I went to the beach instead. But in reality we all now have one less day to hit those goals we were all talking about at the end of 2019...In our posts, immortalised on the blockchain.

The thing about goals...They have such a great ability to motivate and in the goal-setting-moment we feel empowered to achieve them, motivated and eager. But sometimes that feeling dissipates over time taking the goal, we had all good intentions to achieve, along with it. So what do we do to prevent that from happening? Well, I don't know what others do, but this is what I do...

I attach a compelling WHY to each of my goals; A reason for it being a goal in the first place, and a backstory around why it's important enough to make it onto my goals-list. Recalling that reason each day, reminding myself of it, thinking about it and wanting, it helps me stay on-point when it comes to rolling out the plan to achieve that goal.

I'm fairly connected...I know people right? I don't want to let the cat out of the bag here but...Well, I have it on good authority that the year 2020 is set to be the best year we have ever had. All of us I mean. I know right? Super-good huh?! However, there's something we need to do...Don't worry, we all have the ability to do this thing...

We have to follow the plans we all put in place to achieve those 2020 goals we set. We have to take ownership of them, show responsibility, face the adversity and failure which will ultimately lead us to the success we desire.

See? I told you it was something we can all do...No seriously, you can. I can. It's a big job guys, but is doable. We all just have to find and apply the compelling why that makes us want to achieve the goals.

As I said above, I did nothing to achieve my goals today preferring to go to the beach which you can see pictured. It's a beach called Glenelg, in Adelaide. But it doesn't mean I didn't think about the goals. The wheel turns you see, time marches on, and we need to constantly remind ourselves of our goals and seek the path towards them, no matter how difficult it may seem. To not do so is tantamount to giving up completely...It's worse than failure, it's not even trying.

Hey team...I've got some good news...You remember I said I was connected? That I know people? Well, I've managed to pull some strings team, and negotiate a bonus for us this year. I've secured an extra day in the year! That's right folks, we have an entire extra day to drive at those goals with passion for our WHY and clarity of vision. It's scheduled for February 29th so look out for it. You're welcome.

January 1, 2020 is almost over for me, half way through, and just starting for others depending on where in the world people are...No matter where a person is though the year is ahead of us, not behind... 366 days of it! Take the first day to gather your thoughts or recover from new years eve hangovers and then get after your 2020 on each of the 365 remaining days.

Some may notice I've added a little extra to my post signature, the "tomorrow isn't promised" part. It means that there is no guarantee any of us have a tomorrow, a future, and kind of implies that getting after it, pursuing ones' best version of life right now is a sensible option. This means in all aspects...Even chasing goals. The wheel turns and time burns.

From me to you, go get it team!
