My steem journey started 993 days ago...That's 1509 posts ago; More than one a day...And I've enjoyed every moment. Yes, even those times when it beat me down and I felt like giving up.

Steem has become a part of me and whilst it has kicked my ass at times I have turned to it to find the solace that comes from writing and to clear my mind of real-worldy-things, the stresses of living in today's society, performing at my corporate job and the other pressures modern life holds for us.

I have been very open and honest; Not maybe directly, but in my writing resides much of who I am, who I was, and my excitement and fear of who I may be moving forward...It's been a brutally honest reflection of the real me, hidden somewhat within the words I've written. I have shared much about my life and myself within it, and even in my fictional posts a keen-eyed observer will find many things that are deeply and uniquely me.

And you, or someone like you, have been along for the ride...You know, I did a quick calculation and figure, based on an 800 word average, I've written some 1,207,200 words here (1.22 million) and some of you have been with me since the very beginning; You've read a lot of words! (Or skimmed them...Or looked at the pictures, or just voted without looking at them at all.)

Today I was going to write a why am I still here post for theycallmedan@theycallmedan's initiative, even despite the fact I can't match the criteria as I don't have a Twitter account, but I decided not to. I don't think my reasons for being here (still) are that interesting to the community to be honest.

It's been a long road and whilst I didn't think the journey was over things on the blockchain are never solid. It will be interesting to see what paths we are taken down over the next few days and weeks.
