My weekend is coming to an end...well, it's sort of over already. I didn't do much, sleep mainly, watch a movie or two and a little time on Hive. I don't mind though, sometimes sleep is exactly what's needed.
I've often thought it might be cool to have a cats life and, more specifically my cats life. She sleeps a lot, gets loads of cuddles and very well looked after; as well as a cat ever could. She even gets carried (by me) to her dinner spot each night. I know, that's pretty pathetic of me, but she looks at me with those eyes and I can't deny her anything. She pays me back with love though, and I'd be totally lost without her.
I'm an active guy but also love to sleep. I don't often get a great sleep though and envy Cleo's ability to sleep anytime, anywhere and in just about any position. I used to be able to do that but life happens, my brain thinks too much, and now I have a broken sleep each night mostly, if I sleep at all.
I've had that virus thing and have been coughing, had breathing issues and pretty bad headaches among other things. During the day I've done little else but sit on the couch watching shows and movies but have done a greater amount of sleeping. A nap here, another there, drink some water, watch half a movie, sleep again, wake up and have a cheese sandwich, sleep again... That's been my life for the last several days, more asleep that awake, and I'll admit, I felt like Cleo. No one carried me to the dinner table though.
Come bed time, after all the sleep I've had during the day, I didn't think I'd be able to sleep but I have managed it; sure, it's not a consistent sleep, but it's sleep nonetheless.
It's known that sleep is a great healer and I guess the body knows when it's required. The body also goes into a deeper sleep after one has failed to get enough, that's how people manage on very little sleep - when it comes, they sleep deeper. I think that's what my body has been doing lately, taking sleep where it can and healing me. I think it's working as I'm feeling better, a little anyway.
I don't think I could ever sleep as much as Cleo, as much as I'd like to, but over the last several days I feel the sleep I've gotten has taken me a long way down the path to feeling better and getting healthy so...I don't mind that I've been sleeping like a cat.
It's Sunday night here, bed time. I'm actually laying in bed typing this on my phone right now. Cleo is at the end of the bed, already sleeping, and I'll not be far behind. How about you? What's your sleep pattern like? Do you work off little during the week and catch up on the weekends? Do you have a solid eight hours each night? Are you a heavy or light sleeper? Are you a cat and sleep for 22 hours a day? Feel free to share below in the comments.
