Library

I'm writing this from the State Library, it's nice and quiet because I'm surrounded by people who know how to shut the fuck up and let others get on with their research. Speaking of which, I'm here to do some research on a few things that came up over the week and which I have to understand more clearly and broadly. I could have done the research at my home office I suppose, on the webernets, but thought I'd take the time to come to the library and do it there because I like libraries.

I had lunch in the city with a friend today; let's call it brunch because it was earlier than lunch and later than breakfast, and we chatted about the situations around the world and how they may affect us here in Australia; unfortunately there wasn't much of a positive nature to come out of it and we both feel humanity has taken another step backwards, making it all just a little more irreversible. Agree or not, I think it's pretty plain to see there's a lot going on and very little of a positive nature, globally I mean.

Is it all doom and gloom? Probably yes, but I'm in my weekend and that's positive.

I've not got a lot planned, today is sort of work-related for the rest of the day, a few more hours here at the library (I took a break from research to write this) and then I'll go to a cafe to write some stuff that's been rolling around in my head for a while. Sunday I'm doing some shopping, I want to buy a portable 240v induction hotplate for outside at home as I've got a hankering to cook some foods that are best cooked outside so they don't mess up my house. Later, I'll finish off the latest series I'm watching and then make a stir-fry on my new induction cook top.

That's about it I guess, but along the way I'll listen to some tunes, as always, and here's a couple that have made it into my ears over the week.
