The switch turns out to be a grateful platform where they have the chance to shine titles that would deserve it, but they came out in much more crowded markets. That's why many of the indie developers with imaginative titles that have fallen into Steam or mobile markets are also looking for Switch. Especially those of mobile phones must bring something extra to help them use the console's capabilities and not just a clean port. For example, Chameleon Run has been great, and there are more cases. Well, we also have cases that switched from other platforms to Switch, but they did not try to adapt to the new platform and new possibilities.

That's exactly what I could say about the Battle Group 2, which is a title that really has a lot to do with it. First he went to Steam for PC, Linux and Mac, where he found a smaller community of players, but he appreciated it. Due to his concept, it was only natural that he also came to the iOS and Android mobile platforms where he came out in a free to play form. Its gameplay is great for the touch device. There was a chance on Combine to combine everything and, as you might have judged, it was only partially.

The Battle Group 2 publisher presents you as an action strategy, but do not be mistaken. There is not much strategy here, direct action is enough. If I had to compare it to something, it would probably be a classic, to which only the really great memorials - Missile Command - are mentioned. You do not control any character or any combat machine directly. You control where I hit your shooters and you have to predict the direction of the opponents to hit exactly. In other words, do not go where they are, but where they will be in a few moments.

This concept has been known for nearly 40 years in the game world and the Bane Games have also stuck to a story about the heroic crew of a ship that is just sailing through international waters when it suddenly encounters a Talon terrorist organization that attacks innocents and asks almost unlimited resources with which they could take power over the world. You and your fleet are the only one and thus the last hope for stopping this threat. So if you're going to play your time. Repeatedly.

Battle Group 2 does not offer much in terms of content, and there is practically only one game mode that is a campaign. You will find 31 missions to follow in order to stop the Talon. The missions are gifted here and there by some simple animated stories, which consist in the fact that there is a positive figure on the left side of the screen, the right one is negative and there are text dialogues between them. As a minimalist offer, the minimalist is also a presentation. Do not wait longer than that.

The basic gameplay counts for a single boat that floats forwards and you only control the boat. There are enemies of different types before you, they can be fighters, other ships, helicopters, and so on. And all of that is constantly firing on you, so you have to deal with their rockets. The boat takes only a certain number of hits and the problem may also be when you do not do something for the first time as it takes a while for your ship to load the cans. It's a quick micromanagement and a really good predictor of missiles and the movement of enemies. However, special abilities come into play. You can turn on an automatic gun that puts down several goals (you have the ability to instantly charge the automatic canal). Eventually an EMP pulse, which destroys all the missiles moving on you. Or slow the flow of time.

I wrote earlier about the fleet and that means you do not have to fight just one ship, but you can buy another one. There are four main boats and four supportive. You can apply shield and stack upgrades to everyone, and it's all in the credits that you gain by destroying enemies. The more you destroy them within the level, the more stars you get and the better your earnings. You have a good time with us and your skill, but at the end you no longer have a boat to buy, upgrades or special abilities (these are just three uses and then you need to buy a new set). And that's just for you - grind.

Battle Group 2 is a game that is catchy and in some ways fun too, but in small battles. A stereotype, however, occurs when playing in the long run. It could even be said that the game is a short one, when you later do not have to repeat all the levels that have already passed you just to save the ship and move a little further. And that's really a poison. At the same time, it's something you would expect from f2p games, but this is a premium title. You will pay for it, but here you feel it should still pay for faster progress. Even though there is no such thing. Perhaps on the mobile, yes, but you just grind and grind on Switch. If you do not grind, after less than two hours, you are behind it. This is how it stretches.

These are the things that you will not get your Battle Group 2 up to. Playability is not particularly complex, but it can still catch in short batches. But then, the mistakes mentioned above arise. The visual and audio game is also no miracle, but rather a typical mobile standard. It is to be appreciated the authors' efforts in the field of control. It is natural to play the game with a touch in handheld mode, but it is also handled by the levers when connected to a TV. So with that, they did play well. It's just a shame they did not adjust content and game progress. At a low price, however, they compensate.
