This week’s “Share Your Battle” is about a very interesting card with a lot of possible strategies. This week is all about the Venari Knifer which is a very well designed Earth card. It will probably not getting used a lot because of its element but is in my opinion almost always a great choice for different options. In this article we will talk about this card in more detail as well as talk about the team that we will send into battle to support our Venari Knifer. Last but not least we will take a look at an example battle where we set our strategy into play!

Venari Knifer

Let’s begin with the Venari Knifer. This card is not often used because the Earth Splinter is best used with magic cards currently. This is a shame because the Venari Knifer has a lot to offer and gets really interesting with higher levels! But let’s start with his base level as this is the state of the card that most of you will play this card. At base level, this card already brings an amazing 4 speed, 7 health as well as good 2 melee attack. What makes this card a very great tank is its Thorns Ability: Every time this monster gets hit it will deal some damage back to the attacker.

What is more interesting is its additional ability at level 6. This is when it gets the Backfire Ability. This allows us to deal damage every time this monster can avoid being hit. Ultimately this means, that every card that attacks this card will get damage, whether if it hits this card or if it misses this card! This is very powerful in any kind of situations. This is why this card can be used in carious ways. One of my favorite alternatives to use this card as a tank is to put it as back marker. This way, every Sneak attacker of our enemy will get to feel the Thorns!

Djinn Blijka

In this team scenario, we are all about damage! This is why I love the next card: Djinn Biljka is the perfect example choice for our team. Because this card only cost 3 mana but can get a boost up to 3 mana attack at level 2, this card is very ideal in almost every magic team. Especially in combination with the summoner Obsidian that buffs all of our magi attackers with one more magic attack. Not only that but this card can not get attacked by Sneak attackers and can even Weaken our enemy from level 3 upwards. All in all a very solid pick to deal damage.

Goblin Psychic

Next up we have the Goblin Psychic. It is probably one of the most played cards in the whole of Splinterlands. This is because of good reasons! With already 2 Magic Attack at the base level as well as the Healing ability, this card is an absolute dream of support unit. Yes it comes with a cost of 6 mana, but you would never find a better investing opportunity than these 6 mana! With higher levels this card becomes more resistant to attacks as it gets more and more health. In its final stage is has 7 health and a bunch of powerful abilities. It gets additional Affliction, Silence and Dispel!

Spirit Hoarder

The second support unit is yet another Magic attacker. The Spirit Hoarder is being used here as an additional safety net in case our opponent wants to attack our back. I this case we can heal our backline and make sure that all of our monsters will stay alive as log as possible. The reason for this card is not only because of its magic attacking ability but also because of its low speed. As we will see later on our ruleset gives us the reverse speed rule. This means that monsters with the lowest speed will attack first and have the biggest chance to dodge an attack. This is also the reason for all the slow attackers in the team.

Queen Mycelia

The penultimate card is non other than the Queen itself! Queen Mycelia can not be taken out from this team. Not only is this a magic attacker with one speed which is very perfect for the upcoming ruleset but this card also gives us additionally two armor! This means that our Venari Knifer will have additionally 2 hit points that will allow him to stay longer alive and deal more damage! With higher levels, this card even gets the Triage and Amplify Ability. With the Amplify Ability Venari Knifer would be able to deal considerably more damage with his Thorns and the Triage Ability would allow us to heal more cards in the backline!

Fungus Fiend

Last but not least we have a Sneak puffer that should protect all of our monsters from potential sneak attacks! This can be best done with cards that are very cheap and do not have a lot of purpose. The best example is the Fungus Fiend that we can throw in almost every time we have a slot available.

Example Battle & Strategy

Now that we talked about the separate cards, let’s take a look at our battle and the strategy behind it. As we already know, the rule set for this match up was Trample and Reverse Speed. This means that the monsters with the lowest amount of speed will attack first and have the highest probability to dodge an attack. Furthermore, we had 26 mana available. Like introduced above we selected our team according to the speed levels and also chose the Magic Splinter as they have the slowest attackers in form of magic attackers. Furthermore, we put our Venai Knifer in front in order to make sure that we can deal some damage with the Thorns ability. During the battle we were not quite able to keep our tank alive, but the amount of damage that this card was able to deal allowed us to come out of this battle successful! This card definitely had a big portion in this battle win and I would recommend everybody to try this card out!
