Hey Guys! I am continuing my blogging journey with a description of my latest video. In this specific video we discovered the multiplayer mode in Warhammer 40k Battlesector and I must say that I was very surprised by how it is being run. With that being said, enjoy my comments of the video and feel free to check it out!

First Multiplayer Experience
Here we are, as promised my first multiplayer experience. And lets say this match made me wanting more!
In this specific match up we chose an army that is very familiar to us: the blood angels! And we were up against the Imperial Guard. A pretty tough long ranged army to battle with but we had some aces up our sleeves.
We went into the battle with 2 Terminators, 2 Baal Predators and a dreadnought as our main damage dealers. 2 Land Speeder Tornados and two Inceptors as our main fast units to take points. We had two intercessor units to fill up the squad as well as one tech marine and one Sanguinary priest to keep our units alive.
Since we had second go, it would be important to push our opponent out of the objective markers so we would need to get into positions in which we are able to delete the units occupying them. So far the general strategy. In more detail, we would try to focus our main forces on the middle objective. But we also split portions of our team to contest the left and right objective.
Turn 1
Going into turn 1 it was very important to capture our home objective, and to get into a good capturing position for the center objective. We also pushed down the flanks to give ourselves a good opportunity to get to the side objectives first. Especially looking what our opponent di in his first turn, I noticed that he doesn’t focus on the left bridge objective at all. This is where I wanted to capitalize the most! And so after an even less turn 1 the standings were 5-5 as both of us managed to capture the home objective.
Turn 2
Going into turn 2 our opponent was immediately able to capture the center objective. Not great for us since he will probably overwatch this position. Furthermore, he managed to damage some of our troops with his long ranged basilisk. This unit will also be a bit of a pain in the future. Other than this, his army stayed mainly in the dark which is why waiting for the 500 seconds would seem tedious. But at this point my brain was working over hours to determine whether we should go with the aggressive approach or try an play it safe.
When it finally was my turn, we decided to feel it out. We used as few ammunition as possible to get rid of the unit occupying the center objective. Unfortunately we had to use more than we anticipated to but that was alright. We then send out our Land Speed to contest the point. And as expected, the point was heavily overwatched. Fortunately for us, the land speeder made it to the point with still a good chunk of his HP. By doing that, we also were able to see what was waiting for us behind the battle fog: A bunch of tanks ready to shoot holes into our troops. Anyhow, the first goal was achieved: Taking the center. This would put us into the lead on the board, even though we were likely to lose our land speeder in the next turn. We had two options now. Leave the land speeder alone and try to keep playing this back and forth game, or try and push to secure the center. We decided once more for the latter, also because I had something planned that might disrupt his shell strategy. To conclude this turn we also continued pushing down the flanks, setting us up for next turns captures of the flank objectives. And so we ended turn 2 with a 15-10 lead. Not the best but we take it!
Turn 3
Going into turn 3, I was already expecting to lose my land speeder, but what the Imperial Guard came up with made me realize that my strategy might have been to aggressive. While they re-took the center objective their armory targeted one of my Baal Predators very hard! It was an intense battle and I really thought that my Predator would be able to survive this, and he was able to hang onto 1HP for a bit. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by the end of the turn, making us lose a very valuable part of our damage dealer units. And last but not least he was able to take control of the right side objective. All in all a very good turn for him.
So going into our turn 3 we had big plans. We had to continue our aggressive approach otherwise the sacrifice of the Baal Predator would have been for nothing. And so we did! First thing on the agenda point was to take back the center. We had a relatively easy game against his infantry unit. After that I was hoping to push him away from the right side objective but my plan failed there. Unfortunately I was not able to remove his units from the objective and because the majority of my forces were tight down in the middle we had to give it up for now. But that would not hold us back from the initial plan that we had. We would teleport the Terminator behind enemy line and take their home objective! And this would set him on this backfoot. In this case his home objective was not occupied and on top of that we were able to get rid of one of his HQ units. That was a solid move that would give us a big advantage even though it would be clear that we would lose the terminator unit very soon after. To conclude the turn we would capture the left bridge objective point and destroy his little infantry unit trying to contest that point.
With that being said, the goal was to end turn 3 with all objective markers captured. In the end it was 4 out of 5 which is very solid and would put us up to 35-15.
Turn 4
And so going into turn 4 I felt like I had the advantage in points and as long as I would be able to hold the majority of points for one or two more turn, time would be on my side. Saying that, I am aware that my opponent seemed to have the better army base going into turn 4. He seemed to managed to keep more of his units alive and he kept pressuring those important objective points. So his turn 4 started with heavy attacks onto the Terminators that were occupying his home objective. He was not able to defeat them completely in his first attacks. By the end of the turn he was able to take his hoe objective back though. It seemed like as if he used his complete arsenal to push us of his home objective. Secondly he was able to secure the right side objective and really manifest this position. However he was not able to re capture the center which would leave us with 3 objective points in the lead.
And here comes the devastating news: He unfortunately conceded the game. With the reason of having too many misclicks which I understand but I also think that this was a bit too early. I don’t think I would have been able to take any more objective points even if I tried. I think that my next steps would have been to consolidate my army and try to defend the three points I already have. With that being said turn 4 would have ended 50-25 and with him having the stronger army at this point it would have been not impossible for him to make something happen. However, I think that this was one of the advantages of our aggressive early game approach and so I would rightfully claim the first victory in my first online match.
I will definitely continue the exploration of this game mode and looking forward to my next opponent!
