I agree with your sentiment too.
A gentle loving man likes it when his woman shows interest in the things he's good at. Only a jerk of a man wouldn't like such a thing.
Or a guy saying that he has no reason to be even remotely near the kitchen cause he is a man and therefore not his duty. That mentality is what pisses me off.
I get that too. I think that a man should want to prepare a lovely dinner for his wife just as much as she wants to for him. I generally do not like cooking while being single because I am good at it and put a lot of effort into it, only to eat it alone and that makes it depressing, so most of the time I just eat junk. I'd love to have that responsibility be a shared thing because it feels good to cook for others and to also have a meal prepared by a loved one.
Personally, I'd like to cook and care and do other stuff if I wasn't made to feel like it's my prime duty and he doesn't have any reason to help out or support.
Yes, that's where it becomes corrosive and/or abusive.. when the responsibility is not shared/balanced and becomes a demanding expectation of the other..
You're an empathetic loving woman who deserves the same in return.
