Today was another busy day and I still have a lot more going on that will probably be in an update post tomorrow.
As many of you know, I have a pretty large flowering tent and a pretty powerful light inside of it, but it only covers half of the tents width capacity.
So I sacrificed my current vegetation tent lights to add to the sides as can be seen in the photo above. (I have a plan for that tent with my Crystal Candy grow and will talk about that tomorrow, an adjustment to the current grow plans.)
In my mind, this was the correct decision. Each of these panels shoots out 100 watts of LED light. They are not in the same class as the big light in the center, but the plants will still be getting lumens from the big light and these smaller panels should give the plants on the end just enough of a boost in the light they are getting to make a substantial difference.
I'm curious what all the other cannabis growers think of this idea too, and am willing to bet you guys probably think this was not a bad idea either :)
This will give me a total of 800 watts of light power. The big light boasts Samsung LM301H diodes, which the last time I checked are the best on the market. They produce amazing results. It's a 5 bar 600 Watt Kingbrite and has no issues producing dense resinous buds.
After wiring up and having a look at everything, I decided I might as well go ahead and put the other two plants in there to stay now instead of vegging them longer. This makes things a lot easier for me for managing my other grow.
There is still a bit of discoloration going on and some leaf drop off. I recently adjusted the pH and the roots are currently adjusting.
Hopefully they'll perk up and correct soon. I'm at the mercy of patience, because I cannot overwater.
The coloration is not perfect and there are burnt tips. This pH problem really did a number on these plants, and if anyone else suspects any other issues going on I'm all ears.
I like to put in early work on the plants branch systems to achieve strong branches like this. Sometimes I put them through some pretty substantial abuse, which can be noticed where I ripped that branch apart, but look how strong it has recovered. Cannabis is a pretty resilient plant that is known to grow bigger buds from stem abuse early on in its life. I could have done some mid-life training, but decided not to due to the pH problem and overall health issues of the plants. I think it was the correct decision to not overstress the plants while trying to correct their issues at that point.
Now it's time to for these plants to start undergoing their change from vegetation to flowering.
The next couple of months should be pretty exciting watching these girls explode with big buds.
