The thought just occurred to me that I usually take the stairs.
I've always thought:
"I wonder why the majority seem to take the elevators.."
I think I've figured it out.
It's not conceivable in my mind that a character analysis could be easily assessed on a single person's reason for taking one or the other more often, because there are so many factors as to why a person might take an elevator instead, including physical. If the person being analyzed in this sense was a close friend or acquaintance then it would likely be easier to assess.
My thought goes more to the macro level.
In western culture society does not seem to operate completely within the realm of what one may consider thinking for the self. That is to say the societal structure is more molded by a societal cookie cut, in which the persons taking part must play their roles and not step outside of the box too much, because there are usually consequences for doing so, in a negative way to the role being played.
This element is not great for spontaneous creativity or thinking for the self. This post is an example of spontaneous creative thought about elevators and stairs and the meaning behind the macro phenomenon of more people taking elevators than stairs.
There could be demographic differences as well, but where I live most people take the elevator.
To me taking the stairs is very rewarding.
I get a little bit of nice exercise that isn't overly exhausting unless I want to amp up my steps.
I even get the whole stairwell playground to myself most of the time, and sometimes am surprised by a happy quirky person also enjoying the stairwell, maybe sliding down a hand rail as I'm walking up, that one's always a mutual lol moment. Our passing's are usually pleasant and good feeling.
It's also an adventure of sorts. You never know what could happen on a stairwell :D
I've done drugs in stairwells, kissed girls in stairwells, and I got away with it every time because everyone else was on those boring elevators, except for me and the cool people hanging out in a stairwell.
I've found money in stairwells.
I've yodeled in stairwells.
I've hidden from mean bosses in stairwells.
One time I was bouncing on an elevator as it was moving and got stuck in it because it shut down! That sucked! I had to wait for the fire department to come get me out, and admittedly in my teen years didn't admit to knowing why it shut down.
When I was fifteen working as a janitor my boss caught me smoking weed in the stairwell and was a little mad because I didn't come get her first, I told her I was just scared she'd get mad, which was the truth and she forgave me. She was really cool most of the time as long as she was the one deciding we would smoke weed in the stairwell. The weed she got was super fire too, one time I even threw up smoking it because it was so strong I couldn't handle it. Everyone thought that was hilarious but I didn't because I thought my life was ending.
Green Crack
The way this Green Crack smells reminds me of that weed I smoked when I was fifteen years old. To me it has a very piney smell and I really like it. There's this nostalgic undertone reminding me of weed I smoked a long time ago.

A Crack Mack Seed Forming!
The recent Big Mack Superstar males pollenated the Green Crack auto flower. I'm definitely going to try growing some of these in the future.
My conclusion on an elevator vs stairs analysis is that creative minded people are going to be more likely to take the stairs because it offers more of an adventure experience and is a more natural way of moving from location to location with elevation.
Exception to this is a physical disability, and that person with the disability may have a mindset that would rather be on stairs but just cannot be.
Another exception is the spontaneous creative mind, like myself who decided at fifteen I wanted to see how much I could make the elevator bounce while it was moving. Even though I prefer the stairs, I had a random thought of just wanting to give it a bouncy bounce in the elevator, so I did so. I probably wouldn't do that again though because I learn from my mistakes. I'll just stick to the stairs :D
On the macro level it makes sense that the majority will take the elevator because their minds are likely filled with their tight schedules and what they are about to do next to maintain efficiency in their structured repeated behaviors. Not much time for spontaneous creative adventures when living in the rat race of societal culture.
So which do you prefer taking, and why?
