Was visiting my grandparents a few days ago and they've had this cool chalice on top their large old cupboard. Turns out it's monochrystalline silicon and not meant for drinking various beverages with your high school buddies! Outrageous!
There was probably a cool story behind this chalice, but that's reserved for another sitdown with my grandparents. I have also asked my grandpa to start working on his memoirs, because he has a lot to share, but being a modest man, those memoirs sadly and most probably won't be happening. But who knows?
So what's monochrystalline silicon? This material is used in various circuits in electronics along with solar panels and such.
