Life wasn't always easy for for him as he drove down Orange blossom trail toward the police department. Bubsy had been working there now for what seemed like a century but in reality it only been a few years. Three to be exact...
When they had first found out he got the job in Florida, it left Jess a mess. Having to adjust from him being just a regular cop to a homicide detective, it left her in such a state. It had always left her scared, her thoughts a mess. Whenever he had been having to work overnights as a regular beat cop pulling people over, writing citations that kind of thing. He hated this side of it. This wasn't what he envisioned, he wanted the action and adrenaline so he went back to school and was training to become a homicide detective. Once he finished training they had moved them from the middle of nowhere Illinois to Orlando Florida.
In recent times Orlando had became the human trafficking hub of the United States.
He specialized in hunting down people that like to commit kidnaps and murder. But little did Bubsy know that by coming to Orlando it was about to change his entire world. One day after coming home Jess was in tears and freaking out so he walked over to her and embraced her. Pulling her into his arms and he held her.
"What's wrong?" He would ask, "you don't like it here do you?" She was sobbing uncontrollably her shoulders heaving up and down, her little red hair kind of bouncing around as she did. "It's not that!" She exclaimed, her words so hard to understand because of the snot and mucus that had built up in her nostrils. It was the the thought, that was controlling her emotions. That was pouring out of her soul. "I'm pregnant and I didn't want to become pregnant I'm only 21 years old, you're a cop! I never know if you're going to make it home or not! I'm freaking out here Bubsy." She would look up at him with bloodshot red eyes. Tears still streaming down her face, mascara smeared all over the place.
"It's going to be ok babe.." Comforting her the best he could with the kindness of his tone of voice, tightening his arms around her. He would hold her trying to comfort her in any way he could find....

Stopping in front of the precinct he looked up at the building which yanked him from the past and secured his mind back into reality and pushed the past back where it belonged, in memory. He had no idea the horror that was about to be bestowed upon him on this fateful morning. Ever since that night the world was just a different place these days, it was a lot more bitter. The world had gone dark, and his heart had been shattered.
Distorted and filled with regret and remorse. Three years ago he took on a case that was unlike any he had ever been involved with. He was on the trail of a killer, he had no idea what he had got himself into. All he knew was that they needed assistance tracking this individual down, well during this process. The killer had found out about their little manhunt, somehow he had found out what cops, what agents were on his trail and where they lived.
Bubsy was in Oregon when it happened, following up on a wild goose hunt. The killer had set things up to throw them off. They had no idea that the killer was a cyber terrorist. Once the agents had realized that this hunt in Oregon was just a smoke screen, a diversion. They were sent home with no leads. Nothing to use to track down this killer that had been nick named the wraith. The only time anyone had gotten a look at him at all he had been pulling black robes back over his torso, a giant tattoo of a reaper on his back. This tattoo would bring forth a great deal of speculation. Of Thoughts, hypothesis and many other things.
Arriving home, he could tell something was off. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something just wasn't right. Between the too calm feel to the air, or the fact that there wasn't any lights on in the house. Something wasn't right here. Jess always left every light on in the house.
Getting out of the Sedan he moved forward toward the house at an alarming rate and quickly dropped his hand down his jacket. Pulling it to the side so that he could equip his side arm. He could already tell something wasn't right, emotion flooded his body. He fought back the years that were threatening to escape his eyes. Bringing the gun up Infront of his body. He used his free hand to reach up and hold the chamber of the gun. Yanking it back with a sick click, he knew that the Glock was ready to go to work, slaying demons and heros alike. The weapon had no care, no feeling. No master. It was a tool, a tool designed for killing.
Kicking open his own front door, the light from the street lights filtered through, tangoing with his shadow as it fought to illuminate what little could be seen around his visage.
The scene was so grotesque and the air was thick with the most disgusting scent he had ever smelt. It lingered in the air, and as his emerald eyes were drowned with the stage that the wraith had painted, bubsy realized that the catalyst was her essence. He blood, her life and soul...
Jessica was ripped to shreds. Ribbons of sinew and muscle dangled from the ceiling fan. A macabre scene of pain and anguish lathered in torturous rage flooded his living room. The true depravity of the scenario had not even struck him yet because he had failed to turn the light on but as he did move through the living room with the gun down to his side he found the light switch and flicked it on only to find her spread eagle on the dining room table her stomach fileted wide open. The flesh carved back carefully so that it could be pinned to the table with nine inch nails.
Sitting right next to her body was what one could only imagine to be a fetus. She had been pregnant with this child when the killer had struck. By the looks of the fetus she had to have been a couple of months along at least. It was itty bitty maybe the size of a peaches core. Tears instantly flooded down his cheeks. Hands shaking he reached for his cell phone and dialed 911 calling his brothers of the shield....
"Bubsy, hey man. You alright?" He heard the voice of JJ. His partner: she was rather small but feistier than hell. She was as dark as midnight with onyx hair that dangled to about the middle of her back a master Marksman. She had to have been using a gun since before she made it out of elementary school and one hell of a detective to boot.
She knew of his haunted past but in retrospect she had no idea how much it tormented his mind. No one did not the counselors not his boss not his mother or his father. Nor his brothers, no one knew how badly he was torn apart inside. Just how much he was haunted by the memory of her ghost.
Just then they could hear the clatter inside of the department as the radio started buzzing to life. Alarms began going off something big was happening. Silence overcame the entire room other than the alarms as the intercom started screaming about a bank robbery going down. The robbers had already gunned down several of the occupants of the bank. They had barricaded themselves in and no one really knew what they wanted.
Bubsy kept his composure, turning and heading right back for the parking lot, he was heading to the crime scene he was going to go and get to the bottom of the situation besides with how haunted his past was he needed something to take the pent-up aggression out on. Getting down to where he had parked, his fingers wrapped around the cold steel of his door handle; Practically yanking the door off of the sedan he got in and started the engine. By the time he was going to put the car in gear the passenger door opened up and JJ was jumping in. " Really didn't think I was going to let you go without me, did you? Someone's gotta keep your crazy white ass in check!"
Bubsy didn't know it, neither did she at the time but the commissioner had assigned her to him to kind of ground out his aggressive nature. Bugsy was a damn good cop but after all of the sorrow and all of the pain one gets swept up within it. Gaze into the abyss long enough, and something is bound to gaze back.He had began to dish out his animosity, his fury upon the criminals that he had arrested since that fateful night.
Putting the car in gear he spoke to her. "You do realize that this is a one-way trip right?" Who was he kidding she had rode along on so many suicide missions with him it was insane.
