Of course we care about other people and we want a better world for our children.
We have to set safe boundaries where they can play, grow and learn.
This policy of limited trust is extended through our social justice systems.
The tendencies to herd each other and set policies for the safety of the tribe has shaped the civilisations that have gone on to shape our habitats. Below I wish to examine an example of how weird this can get when it goes wrong.
New Study Finds Saturated Fat Causes PTSD and depression in teenagers.
Loma Linda University, a private Seventh-Day Adventist institution in southern California, recently published a study that has been picked up and repeated by mainstream publications.
This is their position on nutrition:
“A well-balanced vegetarian diet that avoids the consumption of meat coupled with intake of legumes, whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables, along with a source of vitamin B12, will promote vigorous health.”
Interestingly the publications of the study failed to reveal that their high Saturated Fat test diet, also had some other attributes.
The sat. fat test diet, (tested on rats) was 17 times higher in sugar, four times the monounsaturated fat, half the protein, 67% more calories, than the control diet. It was also much higher in polyunsaturated fats. This is sold as peer reviewed science. Its very similar to what the World Health Organisation is selling us.
So what is really making us sick?
Is it the inflammation or the information that precedes it?
Agriculture has the largest impact on our environment
How much of the Earths surface has been stripped of the natural food of animals and replaced with plants which are not good food for humans or wildlife? How much energy does it require to prevent ecology from "*healing" itself?
How much energy to produce Nitrogen, Strip and ship Potassium, phosphorus, petroleum based pesticides, fungicides, to keep "turning" the depleted topsoil and exposing it to oxidisation, releasing the carbon captured by millennia of micro organism interaction with native species?
How much miss-information and infiltration of educational centres does it require? Truly it appears to be a lumbering beast, that will not fall gently or lightly. It will topple simply because it consumes so much energy to go against nature. Those supplying that energy and everything downstream of it, may not be capable, let alone interested in forming an objective perspective.
Whatever, I am not personally going to get upset,(today). I am just sharing another view point.
So ironic that this religious educational establishment began with good caring people wanting to make the world a better place. Look where it leads to..not just the baggage of mental trauma that comes from carrying a rigid belief that does not match reality. Not just the high levels of oxidative stress from seed oils, and insulin resistance from the carb load.
Most damaging and harder to reverse, we have removed wildlife and replaced it with soy, corn, wheat, barley, rice, canola. All of which provide few jobs, incredibly poor nutrition and very focused "centralised" supply chains.
Was this the true intent of the agricultural movement - to focus supply lines.? Reducing choice, while more easily taxing what remains?
The dogma necessary to drive such an all out war on nature is deep rooted through all of our major sciences, mostly through the omission of the consequences of applying them. I don't think that was intentional, its more like a side effect of our desire to store untested knowledge. Which I will write more about in more general terms, in another post.
*(Ecology healing itself )reverting back to the food webs that evolved over millions of years to support the diverse life that led the emergence of Homo sapiens.
