From the farm to our kitchen table, Check out the delicious home made lettuce source I prepared
Hello Hive
Isn't it delighting to eat the foods we grow with our own hands. Out of all the home made vegetables delicacies we have here this is the one that I love the most. I grew up eating lots of these and fresh milk directly from the cows udder. We lived in the north part of the country back then and there were lots of vegetables to feast on. Aside this the local hausa community women knows how to prepare various delicacies from different types of vegetables. This lettuce preparations and that of moringa where the ones I ate the most and till date I always cannot wait to eat this preparations.
The work in our farms have slowed down at this time, we are completely through with all of the plantings and are waiting for each crop to get matured so that they can be harvested. Our potatoes harvest should begin this week, meanwhile we decided to plant another that will produce food all through to December and which we can still have access to it far into the new year.
Some labourers assisted with this but we decided to drop by and see the progress of the work so far. With everything being intack. I took some lettuce home to enjoy the afternoon as there was not much to be done in the farm today.
Who would see a plate like this and not want to have a taste of this?
Mind you this is a local preparation made in the same way you people prepare your Salad using mayonnaise and cabbage.
This is prepared from purely natural ingredients
I have my tomatoes, scotch bonnets and onions plus the lettuce.
For this you simply wash and dice all ingredients and also get some peanut butter if you have or a replacement of the blended peanuts cake I have here.
Mix all ingredients together and added a pinch of salt.
In the very same way Salad is eating without boiling this is equally all eating fresh without boiling or passing it over heat.
Eating all ingredients fresh means that you have to wash the vegetables wey well and probably use some warm salt water and ensure that they are healthy without worms.
Picking them from our farm often assured me of so much safety not the ones sold in the market that may have been preserved in some ways.
