I mangage a page on Facebook entitled Meatogenic Surfer, where I write about my own experiences and share article from others about Ketosis and what we find to be low noise to nutritional density foods.

After reading the most recent post in a short series by Matt, I have decided to alter my approach to my "diet" and how I identify with it.

I have trialed the strictly animal products only diet - zero plants of any kind, for months on end. I found that for me personally, I like the way I felt on this way of eating. It has been my "base-line" for almost 2 years now.

However, I do not "identify" myself as "A carnivore". I see myself as just a guy who prefers to and is fortunate enough to be able to eat a meat and fat based diet. It is not a part of my personality and it in no way adds or detracts from my "value" as a member of society.

I am really happy with my body shape and functionality at the moment. I am still working on better hip alignment, overall strength and spacial awareness, but small improvements here are unlikely to have a major impact on my happiness.

Likewise, the way I eat is no longer having a great deal of impact on my health. I have settled into a very comfortable place.

I will continue to avoid eating plants or plant based foods for nutritional value.

I will eat the occasional plant or plant based food such as cake, pizza, ice-cream for entertainment and enjoyment. I may sample a piece of fruit somebody has taken the time and trouble to grow and offer. Out of politeness and curiosity.

Likewise, I may fully enjoy somebodies cooking no matter what it contains. I am finding that my body quickly recover to any disruption it may cause to my well-being.

If I start training on SUP for racing again, I may want to remain in a fully fat adapted state of nutritional ketosis for energy and recovery benefits, but that is not important to me at the moment.

I do not expect this to be of interest to anyone in particular, but I wanted to share it as a sort of disclosure, since I have been extremely opinionated about all this in the past.

Beyond doing the minimum required to meet my financial obligations, of late, my major goal is increasing hip mobility to experience better posture. A low inflammatory diet, is likely to help with that, and for me that means eating fat and meat and bone broths for nutrition and limiting plants for celebrations and social occasions.
