New week and new Splinterlands challenge and it fits perfectly with the end of season, which again at least for me, was a disappointment of rewards, now with this new reward system Splinterlands has become very competitive and there are days when it is very difficult to win games and therefore obtain chests, however, all this effort is not compensated with the quality of the rewards obtained in the chests, since even, at least for me, it is equal or worse than the old reward system. But anyway, this week's challenge is of a card that I have used very little since for me it is not so useful, unless you have little amount of mana (although I prefer to use others that have the same amount of mana).
In this first battle I thought of using only cards with rank attack, except for the card in first position and the cards in positions 2 and 3. In first position I put one of my favorite cards of Death deck: Haunted Spirit, which is a very useful card and one of the most classic of this particular deck, Haunted Spirit as usual when I use this card in any formation, I put it in this first position to act as a tank and receive the most damage in the battle while the rank cards attack. In second and third position are two 0 mana cost cards as I had two spaces left over in the formation. The formation continues with Twisted Jester, another of my favorite cards in the Death deck and another of the most classic cards in this deck. Continuing in the formation and as dictated by this week's challenge is Xenith Archer, which as I mentioned at the beginning, is a card that for me is not very useful and for that mana cost (2), I prefer to use other cards of the same cost and that are much more useful, but as this week's challenge dictates that it should be used, there it is. And in last position is another classic card, but this time from all Splinterlands: Centaur. And so with this formation, where half of them are ranged cards, I was able to win this game, a bit difficult, but in the end, the real MVP of this battle was Haunted Spirit, which resisted a lot of damage throughout this battle.
This second battle was much easier than the first one, none of the cards in my formation were removed, and unlike the first battle, in this one only Haunted Spirit is a melee card, since the others are ALL ranged attack cards. Repeats again in the formation: Haunted Spirit, Twisted Jester, Xenith Archer and Centaur. And the new cards in this formation are: Undead Archer, which is a card that I like much more than Xenith Archer, they cost the same in mana and even this card (Undead Archer), has one more point of speed, although of course, the advantage that Xenith Archer has is that being neutral it can be used with any deck. And in last position is: Weirding Warrior. In the end, this battle was quite easy, I won with a lot of difference, although not all battles will be this easy.
