I discovered an inactive Tallneck on the western coast of the Isle of Spires and began a recovery mission. I defeated several flying machines through stealth and archery before recovering the first vital part at sunrise.
When I was exploring the Isle of Spires, I noticed an inactive Tallneck beaching on the western coast. Getting it operational might be the only way to access its data on the surrounding area, so I decided to recover it.
The massive machine lay partially submerged, its head was resting like a fallen monument.
When I jumped into the water and got close to the Tallneck, I had to scan it to examine it for any missing parts. My Focus revealed that it was missing two energy cells that made it inactive. I swam around the base of its neck, noting the empty sockets that needed to be filled.
I came out of the water and noticed machines ahead that were scraping machine parts from the rusted remains of the old world. These Glinthawks were scavengers, picking through the debris for anything valuable, and they stood directly between me and the components I needed to find.
I went ahead and, after shooting a ladder down with my bow, I had to look for a way to climb that ladder and get to those machines. The ruins were unstable, and the ladder was just out of reach, hanging over a flooded section of the building's ground floor.
There was this crate that I pulled into the water using my pullcaster, and then I had to pull it towards the ruin so I could use it to get to the ladder. I waded through the surf, guiding the floating crate into position until it provided the height I needed to jump.
After climbing up, I tried a silent strike on the flying machine, and the single blow took it down instantly. I moved with precision, using the high vantage point of the ruins to ambush the scavenger before it could alert the others to my presence on the rooftops.
After looting whatever supplies that scrap pile had, I was crouching on a rope to get to the missing part side. I balanced carefully as I moved across the chasm, the wind whistling through the rusted girders while I planned my next move toward the energy cell.
I had to try some careful jumps so I would not land in the water, and then I noticed there was another flying machine right beside the first missing part of the Tallneck. It was perched on a jagged piece of rebar, guarding the very component I had traveled so far to retrieve.
I did a mistake, so I lost the opportunity to try a silent strike on this machine. I slipped on the wet metal, and as it screeched in alarm, I had to shoot it down with my Hunter Bow. I managed to pin its wing to the structure, sending it crashing into the waves below.
When I was grabbing the first missing part of the Tallneck, I noticed the sun started rising, and it was an amazing view. The sky turned a brilliant orange, reflecting off the ocean and the metallic skin of the dormant giant. Now, I had to look for the second missing part next.
The next post will be coming soon. Screenshots are my take from the game and I took the game logo that I used on the thumbnail picture from online.
SEE YOU.
