The "Circus Bridge" you see in the distance is a "drawbridge" on business 41. I have walked to it many times in the past. And I have went there and beyond many times on a bicycle too.
You see the canal on the left and the trail along side of it. Such a lovely place. The boats go up and down the canal as you walk or ride along.
But, let's pick up where I left off from my walk that I posted yesterday. This is part 2 of that walk.
I want to walk even farther in the future and show you what a unusual place it is for anyone to enjoy.
If you like trees. Here is a little pine tree starting to grow along side of the trail. It won't take too many
years for it to grow into a big strong tree that the birds like to fly to. I have seen eagles and even owls
in pine trees over the years I have been here.
You will find benches and tables all along the trail at certain points of distance.
I did sit down a time or two. Just to take in the beauty of the surroundings around me.
When we are racing along. We miss out on a lot of what there is to see. That is why I
like to walk. You see and observe things more closely.
This is still Federal Land I think. The fenced in area was a training ground for the troops back during the early wars.
New chain link fence. I wonder how long it will be before the builders and contractors start begging for this land? That would be sad. Too much construction now.
As I walk along. I come to a table that is ready for anyone that would like to rest or have a picnic snack. That is so nice. I didn't eat anything at the table. I did sit down to look around. I didn't sit long. I cannot do that now.
As I continue down the trail. I see this sign. Tobacco isn't as acceptable today as it was when I was a youngster. I never had any problem though. Even though it was what many did. I just never started.
Whenever I would try. I would choke on the smoke. So I reasoned with myself that I should not even try.
I never was one that wanted to physically hurt myself if I could avoid it.
So, it would not be a surprise to you that I don't have any tattoos either. I am pretty enough without them Ha
Then I see this sign telling me I have arrived at the "Friendship Center."
If you thought that it was primarily for older people. You would be right.
It is an excellent place for people to meet and enjoy the friendship of others.
I never did join. I qualify on the age factor. lol
But, I have never considered myself to be old. It just doesn't register with me that
I could be old. I don't think like that. I do whatever I always have done.
Should the day every come that I would have to change. I am not sure I could survive.
Friends. I can see that I am going to have to add another post to cover my walk.
There is always a lot to see and I don't want to hurry and miss what I have.
So watch and listen to this song to close out this post.
I like the girls a lot. I hope you do too.
