Walking in nature is grounding and fulfilling!
Walking by the sea is refreshing and rejuvenating!
And walking in nature, by the sea, during the golden hour, is the photographer's joy :)
The fact that we have entered spring in full speed, makes this walk even more enjoyable and definitely memorable :)
The first umbrellas and sun-beds of the season are already in place while the camper-vans never stopped coming all the winter. Of course their number will increase radically during the next months. But for now anyone can enjoy an almost private experience on the beach!
The path that I took connects the town of Nafplio with the sandy beach of Karathona. It is approximately 3 km (1,5 - 2 miles) long and as close to the sea as possible! I started from the beach towards the town and I went halfway and back. More than enough for a lovely, satisfying walk!
I returned to the car about an hour later, loaded with wonderful pictures, both in my camera's memory card as well as in my mind and soul :)
On one side the flora of the hillside, celebrating spring and on the other the sea and the evening sky on fire by the golden rays of the setting sun. A scenery to satisfy all the senses at the same time!
I particularly loved the sky. So clear and so blue, decorated with all those wonderful white clouds, it was as perfect as I could ever expect!
The path itself is an enormous asset of the town. I have lived for years in a much more rural area, with endless wonderful hikes all over the place but nothing for a simple walk. I mean you don't want to go everyday on a difficult hike, on badly maintained trails and steep slopes, no matter how beautiful they are. Sometimes you just need an easy, friendly pathway, a calming scenery and the opportunity to end your day in nature without too much effort.
And I don't see anything bad at this!
Every Wednesday @tattoodjay is inviting us to get out for a short walk, get some shots of what we can see and make a #wednesdaywalk post about it. This is one of my most recent walks. I hope you enjoyed it :)
Happy walks, to all of you :)
All the pictures and the words are mine.
