El MIDAGRI en el 2021 planteó trabajar un plan para la construcción de una planta procesadora de fertilizantes aquí en el Perú, la cual aprovecharía principalmente los yacimientos de fosfato de Bayovar como materia prima.
Es así que, hace unos días, tras haberse reunido e iniciado contacto el actual ministro de agricultura Óscar Zea, con empresarios coreanos y chinos, quienes cuentan con experiencia en la construcción de estas infraestructuras, se ha estimado que en un promedio de 2 años el Perú podría contar con su propia planta de fertilizantes.
Hay que tener en cuenta que en el Perú los fertilizantes más importados son: urea (43%), fosfato diamónico (18%), fosfato monoamónico (13%), superfosfato triple (9%), potasio (6&), zinc (3%) y boro (2%), pudiéndose observar que es la fuente de fósforo la que cuenta con mayor porcentaje.
Sin duda que la construcción de la planta de procesamiento sería un gran paso para la agricultura peruana y para nuestra seguridad alimentaria.
