Recovery Day 14 - 27 kilometer walk... my training diary entry from June 20 2026
(I managed to photograph this lizard this morning while walking a friend to the S-Bahn station. Seeing an animal like this here is, in a way, something special. I cannot recall the last time I saw such a creature in the area where I live. Clearly, the lizard must have felt threatened at some point; otherwise, it wouldn't have shed its tail. As far as I know, lizards have a one-time ability to shed their tails when in danger in order to escape predators.)
Hi Actifitters,
yesterday, I wanted to test how much physical strain I could handle again, given the muscle issues in my left leg. I was more than surprised when we ended up covering a little over 27 kilometers. At no point did I feel any discomfort or pain. A quick detour to a lake—where we cooled off in 33-degree heat—turned the day into a truly wonderful outing.
I am clearly on the right track and should soon be able to go hiking and cycling again. I am very happy about that. Nevertheless, I will take it easy for at least another week.
Since yesterday's outing was significantly more strenuous for my body than it would have been before my injury, I am going to take it very easy today and won't engage in any physical activities other than walking.
