Freight train Ty1
The heavy G12 freight locomotive, later bearing the BR 58 mark, was the first standard German series. It was built in the years 1917-1921 in the number of 1158 pieces. This 3-cylinder steam engine had a two-ring boiler with a diameter of 1800 mm and an overpressure of 14 Atm steam. The third cylinder - the engine was driven by cranking the central axis of the locomotive. The service steam of the locomotive was 94 tons and the maximum speed was 65 km / h. On PKP, these locomotives were called Ty1. One of them about No. Ty1-76 is located in the local open-air museum of the Steam Engine. It was produced in 1919 in the Linke-Hofmann factory for KPEV for the factory number 1866. Originally it had the designation G12 "Elberfeld 5562". Later, he carried the designation Ty1-76 on railway PKP. His service after the war on PKP was as follows: in 1946. he was transferred from Katowice to Poznań, then he went to Jarocin, from 1953. he was stationed in Wągrowiec, Zbąszynku, Gniezno. In 1961. in the engine house Gniezno he ended his service and was withdrawn from service. In 1994. he went to the Wolsztyn Steam Locomotive, where he was reconstructed and enriched the collection of the local Skansen as a "cold exhibit".
