Steam locomotives TKt48 series
In 1948, the Tkt48 steam locomotive was constructed in Poland. It was produced in the years 1950-57. This is called "Tendrink", which can move in both directions at the same speed. Therefore, it is used willingly on local lines, where there are often no turnstiles at the return stations. It is a very successful construction, has a large diameter of cylinders, which makes it characterized by very good traditional properties, above all fast start-up. Although this locomotive was designed for freight traffic, thanks to its maximum speed of 80 km / h it can work perfectly on passenger transport.
The Tkt48-143 stationed in Wolsztyn was built in 1956 in Chrzanów, in the locomotive factory, which at that time was named after Feliks Dzerzhinsky. It has the serial number 4733. He served in the Nasielsk Locomotive Station, and since January 1990 he has been in Wolsztyn. It was used to drive passenger and freight trains and at station maneuvering work. In the engine house there is also a second copy of this locomotive about No. 147 (factory number 4737) set as a monument at the Wolsztyn station.
