We were in Palm Springs a couple months back, we had some great food and explored the national park.
The rock formations there are insane, really a great place to spend the day, if you like hiking.
If you end up going, definitely go for the entire day and watch the sun go down.
But remember to bring a jacket or you'll freeze your bits off.
