With my experience in promoting social blockchain over the years, I discovered that a lot of people are either not too interested in long-form content or they are not really going to show some commitment in producing long-form content over a period of time. This accounts for so many new signups and accounts that are abandoned within a month or two of after they signed up.
Regarding content length, I believe that its not even about time for some of the new users because you still see them updating their Whatsapp status or their Facebook story regularly. So while they claim to be too busy or show that they are not interested to publish 300-word posts, they regularly get involved in short-form content.
So probably, the number of people interested in short-form content is much larger..
..than those in full-length content creation. So the marketing design and strategy for pushing blockchain mass adoption should be from the angle of what the masses are already interested in - short-form content. Twitter and other short-content publishing platforms have made it popular. Besides that, micro-blogging takes less time, is less detailed and matches the short attention span we see around us today. Thread
Given that more people have less attention span means that short-form content will remain appealing. Many are put off by the thought of reading a detailed document like the kind of +300 word length articles we make here. This is probably the same reason many users simply click the "agree" button without reading the terms document of many projects. The document is too long for them. So short-form content and short attention span almost go hand in hand. This is where Threads come in.
Threads open a large door for short-form content creators
If one is known to consistently publish short content here on Hive, it wont be long before they run into trouble - probably on grounds of poor content due to length. But on threads, short is beautiful. I can comfortably invite my friends over to Threads without even to mention anything about blockchain and all that. Of course they will still learn about the benefits of Web3 eventually. But then, Everyone wants to explore something new. So if I introduce thread as a new Twitter competitor that friends would like to check out, there wont be so much talking to convince potential users to try the project.
Like every other content publishing platform, new users would be expected to create an account, which is no different from Threads. Then, they are able to do all the social activities we see on other platforms such as following other users, having followers and liking posts. Happily, its easy to do all those on threads. And by the time they start enjoying the engagement their content generates, they will likely hang around a lot
Threads Take micro-blogging further
Leo threads is not just another slightly better Twitter. It offers a lot of advantages that only a Web3 project can bring to the table. When we are aware of these advantages, then it will be pretty straight-forward to educate the masses to come onboard.
Inasmuch as everyone would like to pretend they are not here for the rewards, Leo Threads have a really cool rewards feature. Yes, one can actually earn from the threads they make on their page. This is completely unlike anything Twitter or any web2 project offers. Interestingly, I discovered that some of my group of threads in a particular day outperforms full-length posts published within same period. This is actually a great thing which shows that the potential to earn from Threads micro-blogging is endless. But there is more..
If you have never been kicked out a micro-blogging or silenced in a microblogging platform before, you wont appreciate how badly censorship hurts.
Majority of micro-blogging platforms in existence are just as centralized as other web2 projects. Free speech is completely elusive. If you must say your mind, you do so at your accounts risk. This is because you can be kicked out at will if your views are widely divergent.
Leo Threads gives you not just the voice, but the power to create your own thought system. You own your views and everyone respects that. Threads being a pioneer web3 project has decentralization and censorship-resistance as its core building blocks. A lot of content creators have been silenced elsewhere in web2 projects, but threads fully supports free speech. That is really a cool and attractive feature. So when our friends are coming over, they are switching to a higher thought platform where personal views and opinions are allowed to stand without any form of coercion.
We can be Threads network nodes:
Threads need a lot of marketing and each person can play a really crucial role - just like nodes in any blockchain network. A lot of people are seeking what threads have to offer. Many others are just managing to keep a tight lip elsewhere to avoid being sanctioned. No amount of marketing efforts from the Leo Team would be enough to get the word out. We all can get involved.
Networking would be a cool principle and effective strategy to reach everyone out there. We start from the closest people around us. From there, we check our social circles online, even our phone contacts. We cannot be too busy elsewhere while allowing our dear threads project to grow itself.
Start each day by creating or reply threads. This way, we can easily help Threads and indeed the Leo Team to drive mass adoption of blockchain technology.
