It's Sunday. A bit of a lazy day.
I've been continuing to work with RawTherapee and Gimp to color correct and blend the DNG files from the Autel Evo drone. It's coming along fine. The process is easy and powerful enough to get the results I want to hand my clients.
Bootstrapping is working
I have a bit of work to do this week. A couple of websites and a real estate shoot early in the week is a nice bump. The trick will be to try to maintain any momentum, but I think pushing through February is probably the best timing to reach out before the spring rush.
It will be interesting to see how the pictures look from the real estate shoot I have on Tuesday. This February light at noon can be challenging. Noon might be the best time of day this time of year, but I am curious to see if we have a really bright side and a really dark side due to the low angle of winter light. That kind of change can make the camera struggle to maintain appurature and white balance.
If there is an overcast sky, that might alleviate the casting, but then it will be generally pretty ugly and hard to do a sky replacement and make the shadows look natural.
Like I said, I have two websites to build for low budget clients. One is a small goat farm and one is a small equestrian business. They are rather similar in that they just want a nice site to show their limited content. The goat farmer has an outdated site on some Wix-like host that appears to be very limited and SEO options poor. She does want a new site, so I'm hoping that I can talk her into a fresh WordPress install and then I will set her up to do most of her own updating.
The equestrian business client is basically the same, but I have her set up on a Wordpress install already, so I just have to get with her and fish out some content.
See you tomorrow for day 10 of 42 days of bootstrapping.
