My Dad used to be a strong person who never gave up in life. He was my role model in life. Seeing him I have adapted manything in life. He also taught us many lesson of living life happily and one important lesson that I never forget is to remain dependent on yourself rather than depending upon others. When we rely heavily on others to carry our basic acts, we hand over control of our life path. I realised it pretty later in life how important it is to carry our own work. He himself never like to depend on others. Even in his last stage of life, he never asked for any assistance. I am living far away in city but he never let me realize the pain he is in. In all his pain and suffering with authorities problem, he himself used to carry out his daily chores. It was incredible to see how our previous generation was so tough and rough.

One day he fell from the staircase and broken some hip bones, this is when he finally surrendered. When he get bed ridden, I realised his incapability to move. At that moment too he showing great resilience and ready to do everything by himself. But I realized it too that my idol has started falling. The ageing has taken a tool in his body and he need assistance before he would say final goodbye. All his childhood training, and learning helped me a lot. From household chores to solving minor electricity issue to laundry to plumbing to ironing to cooking to gardening. I am capable of doing everything. Seeing me doing everything my relatives were in state of shock. Raised up in big city, my relatives assumed me to be a kid who does not know how to deal with daily chores. But instead , thanks to my Dad's teaching that I managed everything of my own. It was quite a surprising moment for my relatives seeing me washing big bed sheets and other cloth manually. He was shocked to see me keeping my Dad clean and clear and completely in hygiene. They never expected this from a boy who never seen hardship in life before.

Confidence looks best when it comes from within.

After his departure, there was a phase, where I was supposed to move away from my home and to live separately. It was not easy, as it require me cook food. And this time I am thankful to Mom, that I can cook our daily meals. My daughter was surprised seeing me cooking. But she liked the taste. It was first time, but the zeal to manage by my own helped me and daughter to feed on home cooked food rather than hotels and restaurants food. I personally believe that, doing things our self builds personal self-reliance, inner confidence, and clear self-awareness. Handling tasks independently teaches you practical skills and problem solving, making us less dependent on others for everyday challenges. Every person should be know how to join two wires at home, how change switch or change lights. These are minor things bit still few people rely on electrician and ready to pay any amount. Overcoming obstacles on our own proves our competence and deepens trust in our own judgment. It gives immense internal satisfaction. Making our own choices helps us discover what we truly like, want, and believe separate from the pressure or expectations of a crowd. Public are ready to give opinion but no one is ready to act accordingly.

Proof that I shouldn't be left unsupervised with power tools.

In many probability #Minimalism and #DIY are deeply interconnected lifestyles. At their core, both movements are a rebellion against modern, passive consumerism. While minimalism focuses on eliminating the excess, DIY focuses on taking control of what remains. Are staying in an era where everything is relying on money. From food delivery to shopping to other home bpund services. There are many union start up that provide services at door step. Many people like to pay for these services rather than giving own try. I remember, my friend once called an online plumbing services to change their toilet tap. And he paid him Rs.500/- . Such job does not require any skill set but can be done manually, by simply buying a tap from market. But people are more prone to comfort. In my opinion one should look out for professional assistance when a task exceeds our current skill set. That will help our life more independent and happy.

In good faith - Peace!!
