I know that you have been told all your life that it is males that have the larger ego but that does not fit the evidence. Females tend to be attracted to, what I call, "the space in-between". The space in-between is not really a physical space, per se. When people come together, the "space" in-between them is were all the relationships and social structures and hierarchical structures exists. Females spend most of their time here because it is where their reproductive functions operate. It is most important for them to navigate this space. It is their arena. Reproduction affects their lives to a much, much greater extent than it does males. Although the universe does not revolve around the female's genitals, the female herself does revolve around her reproductive organs. Keeping those organs out of the "hands" of males when the time is not right is of paramount importance to her. Females have a one track mind. Hence, the exclusion of the opposite sex, which happens to be the exact definition of sexism.
Now back to ego. There are two types of people, makers and takers. The world around us in where all the necessities of life come from such as food and water and a place to defecate. Men tend to turn their attention outward. Also, thanks to the sexism of females, the males are usually excluded from the herd. That leaves the men to explore and find resources and battle the predators. Now the wind and the rocks do not care how highly you think of yourself. The ocean waves do not care what position in society you have. The ego has no value in nature. The ego only has value in "the space in-between". The ego determines how much of the resources one is entitled to in "the space in-between". You see, there are takers and there are makers. "The space in-between" is where resources are taken.
Females strive to be the "prima", the top dog, the dominant matriarch, the highest ranking of the "donna's", so they can have the best of the resources. Females create a "pecking order" and it has nothing to do with wisdom or kindness. It is wholly selfish and self serving. The sad part about that is we are all products of that. Children's world view is filled, from its inception, from the self serving nature of the female. Latter in life we have to unlearn all of the bull sh!t that was fed to us by the people that want to take everything we have for themselves. Many things you have been taught from childhood are absolutely backwards from actual reality. That is something to keep in mind when you ponder where sugar and spice come from.
