The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is one of the most popular sight s of the City and a national sight of Germany. It is repesented on the Euro Cent coins in Germany and during the cold war it was situated at the Border between NATO and the Warshaw Pakt. Of course I also had to visit it during my stay in Berlin. The Popular "Hotel Adlon" is near the Brandenburg Gate and the Street there host a lot of expensive shops.
