Todai-ji Temple is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. It’s a historic and famous temple with ancient architecture.

Todai-ji Temple is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Treasure of Japan. It's the house of the country’s largest bronze Great Buddha statue, Daibutsu, which many people from around the world visit to pay their respects.

Daibutsu is situated in the Daibutsu-den (Great Buddha Hall) which holds the record as the largest wooden building in the world.

The main southern gate of Todai-ji Temple, Nandai-mon, is the largest temple gate in Japan, with two awesome statues of the guardian deities.
