Definitivamente dije: este es su año y yo quiero ser parte de ello.

In our country, the most famous sport is baseball; with a fan base that year after year follows their teams, the tradition is passed from generation to generation and deciding which team to support can cause the worst family and community fights that exist🤣.
It is that we have players who have made history worldwide and with whom we identify in such a way that, we make it part of our life, anecdotes, favorite site or acquire their number to wear the best jersey every season that begins in October, but that all year in one way or another we talk about it.
I WAS of the Glorious Leones del Caracas🦁Champion team by tradition😎, that since I was a little girl gave me the best victories I can remember in history and of whom I have felt very proud for every game, lose or win, because baseball is a feeling, a life, a style.
However, since last year something was calling me, telling me, I felt that THIS WAS THE YEAR! Since the season started, they were talking about the team, the reinforcement, the best in their line up and no, I'm not talking about the Leones, I'm talking about the reborn Tiburones de La guaira 😀.
I definitely said: this is their year and I want to be part of it.
That's why I started looking at players, pitchers, reinforcements, bench, schedules, dates and since October I followed game by game their evolution in the preseason.
I had already heard about Ronald Acuña Jr., his numbers, how well he was doing in Atlanta and although I did not like him very much, the negative performance he had the previous season in the final but that is another story and I think that at this point it was already a stage overcome. Knowing that he was coming to play, I had to be there and see him play.
The date chosen was December 26. The Tiburones de la Guaira team was on a winning streak; since Acuá arrived, he gave the team security, confidence, team work, he was not treated as the “Great that he was” but he was accompanied by the talent of the other players, even making gestures, celebrations and words of support with all the members, his leadership being so young and that new air that he gave, pushed the team to the first places.
Lo maravilloso de ese día

The wonderful thing about that day
As I told you, I chose a date that was already on the calendar and we were going to share it with the family because it was a holiday; however, and fortunately for this historic day by those coincidences of life, the game was placed in the forum of La Guaira for the night of December 20, 2023.
Although my friends (who are loyal to the lions team) did not believe my determination, when they saw me in a Tiburones uniform, they had no choice but to accept my decision.

That day was exceptional like very few others and will remain in my memory and the memory of those of us who attended that night.
⚾️ They played as a home team. This year the team when it is home club has two uniforms; one that is the one seen in the photo and the one of the savannah in honor justly to the contribution of Ronald Acuña Jr. and his family (who also play), since he is native of that town and when they play with that uniform is like feeling in family. All year long, they shared the stadium with another team and sometimes played as visitors, which was not very well accepted by those in attendance. First point in favor
⚾️ Secondly, that night they faced the team that was first in the standings (Cardenales de Lara) and that game was decisive to continue advancing in the standings and move on to the semifinals, it was a challenge and the fans were there to support them.
⚾️ That night everyone played. They all did their job; some batted, others were packed, the pitchers struck out their opponents, and the public cheered, clapped, sang, the madness took hold of all of us that night!
⚾️ Ronald did very well that night: he batted, he was packed, and at the end they gave him a base on ball because they didn't want to face him, and there the audience burst into applause! I hadn't been to a game in a long time and feeling that emotion was one of the best moments I will treasure in my memories.
⚾️ I was also able to see three greats of our baseball, as in few moments we have seen them and who are now part of the team: Endy Chavez, Ozzie Guillen, I couldn't get excited!
⚾️ That night we WON! One of the best victories I've ever seen in my life, so the celebration was all over the city, WE DESERVED IT!
¿Que fue distinto?

What was different?
The December 26th game was a disaster: that night Ronald Acuña did not play, so his last game as a home player and with his hometown uniform was the night I saw him. Besides, in that game they lost; also, it rained so hard that the game was almost suspended and there were not many attendees who asked for Acuña since he was the star, but they were left wanting.

To see Acuña playing, counting that he was already the MVP of the National League, the likes of Shohei Ohtani, was a luxury. To know that the probability of seeing him play, that he would do things right, that they would win! It was that I wanted to run, scream, tell him I admired him, and thank him for giving me one of the best nights of my life.
His numbers were impressive, the way he dressed, the way he stole a base, the way he got the team together, the crowd chanting MVP! MVP! MVP! MVP! I want to believe that for him it was also one of his best nights😊.
Captura de pantalla a su X, la noche de la confirmación de la lesión😔.

Finally being his last night in the national games, he did not participate in the Caribbean Series and has not talked about it anymore, plus I can not go to the U.S. because of visa issues, I think that was my only chance to see a star up close and enjoy it to the fullest. Also, I don't think they will be able to keep that championship so I was very fortunate to see them play, win and celebrate.
I enjoyed his game, his exceptional skills and talent, although behaviorally I think he still needs to control his anxiety and not act so much on impulse, as this is a negative point and he showed it this Sunday when his hamstring was injured and now he will be out for a year after his operation.
I hope everything goes very well, that his recovery is as fruitful as possible and soon we will see him back on the field giving his best in every game Amen!

The photographs are my property, in one of paparazzi “coinalovers” because I declare myself their fans😎. The cover I made it in Canvas, the divider in FotoJet.
Until a next meeting ⚾️🥇🏆
