Good Morning HIVE Friends

Eight months ago I lost my father, he suddenly had a stroke and there is not a day in my life that I do not remember him.

When I was in the hospital, I saw him leave, thank God, because he was asleep and I saw how little by little his breathing slowed down, at that moment I understood that it was time and I said a prayer.

The first few months I could not hold back my tears, although in front of my mother and my sisters I pretended to be strong, they could not understand how I, being the spoiled one and the most attached to him, had been able to hold firm, but the ordeal was inside, at home it was my husband who saw me crying in the corners.

Little by little I have learned to understand that it was his time and I had to thank God that he fulfilled what I asked him in that room, when I saw him unable to fend for himself, I asked that if he was not going to recover completely that he should be taken away and that I should not make him suffer, because he was a very active man despite his 79 years.

What has helped me to cope with the pain is that I always gave him a lot of love, I was the most patient of his daughters and I was always very attentive to his things, so much so that my sisters said that he only listened to me.

The first days I took refuge in prayer, in talking with him and praying for his rest.

With these lines I want to leave the following message: if you have your parents alive, love them a lot, pamper them, take care of them, be patient and share a lot of time with them, that is what we will have left when the day of their departure arrives and it is the greatest consolation you will have.
